Great video, viewed 5 days after walking the Llanberis Path myself (July'23). Completely agree with comments about the first (tarmac) section. I didn't think I'd complete the walk at that point, it was so steep. But do take your time and it improves a lot once you're on the stony/rocky section. It was cloudy at the top on the day, so nice to see the summit in its full glory.

Shawn Lassetter Hi fella. Main problem is the wind if it's icy up there or snow when you get to the top of the pyg and miners track. If it's blowing more than 20mph in llanberris you can count on 60-70 up there and it's not pleasant. Hope you go, I went early march a few times and it was stunning. Good luck

Hi Paul...Thank you for the lovely filming. We are climbing snowdon in a couple of weeks. Never been up before. How long do you think this would take, round trip, with a healthy, fit 7 year old boy?
@pauljones401 Жыл бұрын
Hi Sue. Thank you. I’ve had a couple of bad car crashes so therefore don’t move that well. It’s been about opening up these places to the rest of us who can’t just roll up like some films are and are up and down there in 4 hours without any issue. Guess I got tired of hearing a lot of machismo around the idea of doing things like this and it’s why I do this. In fact excuse the diatribe but it is! This path is the best for so many different experiences and is also full of people like us. Be slow at the start as I ( keep !! ) saying and I reckon you’d have a fantastic 6 hours without blowing a gasket as that’s not the point. Also be wary like I say of that bit after going under the tunnel as it’s very tough but just stay slow. Didn’t start this until 40 but I’m thrilled if I can show people around. Also ps I’d played a big concert night before so actually due to being too excited to sleep that night I didn’t attempt this until erm 4pm!!! He he! Magical place and all the best and let me know how you all do! Paul 👍

Samantha Casey Hi! Fair play and great luck to you. I don’t deny that in the past I’ve not lived the most wholesome life ( drinking smoking...... you get the drift!) but I would say if you can walk 10k twice a week until say 6 weeks before then do it 3 times a week then you’ll be in the ballpark. Plus weirdly don’t rush. Trying to keep up is a killer. Figure how quick you are comfortably doing 4K an hour and stick to it. It took me 8 hours to do the Ben but due to car crash injuries I know I’m not as quick as most. I’m sure it was 16k up and down the Ben for me but hopefully you’re in a slightly better place. Follow yourselves as a group with this mileage so to speak. I was expecting another comment dissing my welsh pronunciations which was entirely valid back then but I didn’t expect this so I’ve thought about it! Good luck and hope more than anything you all get something from it. Paul

Is it safe for my 8 year old daughter to walk up ........
@pauljones4013 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee. Now obviously I’m not a health professional. But. If she can do that first bit ok and I really meant it when I said crawl almost up it because I’ve a few issues too then she’ll be fine. People rush it but my personal mantra is don’t get out of breath. You will get there, it is a bit weird to see people flying past you but to me that’s not the point. Get there in your own time. It feels strange to say to yourself slow down, it really does! But I’ve certainly seen children much younger up there but so what. If she is ok doing 7 8 Km that is a good yardstick. Plus the path is well occupied and if there is an issue then there is a lot of friendly help around too. I can’t over emphasise how many problems I have ( car crashes etc ) but if you don’t rush then it is there for everyone. Plenty of fluids and if your sweating, calm it! Hope that helps. P
