How I fixed my TO30 but had starter problem as well as the motor wouldn't start & I thought it was the timing. Have 6 volt which was changed to 12 volt.

I went through the same thing with starters on my TO-20. Tore the last bad one apart. The brushes would carbon up and quit contacting. They were made from some very hard material. I cleaned them and after a few starts, would do the same thing again. I bought the same starter you have now and had no more problems. The 1109457 is the only one to buy in my opinion. Has lasted well over a year now, and I use this tractor alot!

The fuel line to the carb comes off the top of the filter/fuel water separator, that's why there was still fuel in it although the tank was empty. Regarding the starter, I converted mine to 12v but I think the starter is a 6v, never had a problem with it. And thanks for the joke!

Good joke!! That Massey reminds me of why i decided that i didn't want a career in agriculture. When I was young about 12 years old i worked in the Florida orange groves for a cantankerous Irishman. I didn't mind the work and he paid me good,25 cents an hour. One morning he picked me up in his truck and said jackson, I am going to get you some help so we drove into a different part of town and picked up three men that were standing on the corner. We then drove to the orchard but he kept driving several miles past the orchard then pulled up to something that i had never seen before. It was a chicken ranch with thousand's of chickens in pens about as far as i could see. I and the old men just stared as we were told that our job was to shovel the chicken manure from under neath the pens into a trialer. The scoop shovel that i was using was bigger than me but I shoveled away amongst the stench of dying chickens, manure and a cloud of fly's. After a few hours I realized that those three old men had decided that this wasn't the kind of work that they wanted to do so they took off and got away from that stinky mess. Eventually the boss man drove up and just shook his head and told me to hurry up and finish the job. Up to that point that was the worst job that i had ever had. People these days don't understand what kind of hard work a kid was expected to do back in those days. As we hauled that load of chicken manure back to the orange grove I had no idea what i was in for. I was told by that drunkin Irishman that I would be spreading that manure using a machine that flung that messy stuff 30 feet into the air so in a very short time i was covered in chicken manure feathers, blood and flies. I haven't had much of an appetite for eating chicken since then. The worse thing is the next day the old Irishman accused me of breaking something on that old Massey Ferguson. Little did I know that wouldn't be the worst thing that would happen in working in that orange grove. on a different subject, How about some beekeeping wisdom from you/

Hey man, I recently got a 52 to30 and I can't find out where the hydrolic filter is located. Everyone tells me it's behind the PTO lever plate but there is no filter in there. In fact there ain't even room in there for a filter. Can you tell me where the hydrolic filter is located??? Please

Before you even say it, I done the same thing. Sitting there for a week. Trying to figure out what I had done wrong with my rewind battery. Everything 12 V got power to the distributor set and are looking at the gas in the bowl. My friend Ivan looked over in the gas tank and said there was you could see gas in it. Anyway, long story shower.I put some more gas in it and she fired.Rather, everybody has been days.God bless you, you have a good year.Hopefully this year will be better than the last few we've had
