Strangely enough, if you have a disk drive on your computer, when the game crashes for the first time, the game actually causes your disk drive to open up a few seconds before it reopens. Hey man, the level you say could be "heaven" is almost definitely a morgue. The little holes in the walls are the doors the bodies go in for storage. Don't know why some of them are gold though LOL- it could be a graveyard too maybe?? But I think there being doors makes the morgue thing more likely. Either way, makes sense for the plot. Anyway hope this helps!

it could be a crematorium? they're more likely to have those double door shutters like some of the window sprites do than the usually single slot 'drawers' look morgues have and it'd explain why some of them are lit up too. honestly the metal door in brick wall background might also indicate that, actually. could also see it as *maybe* being a fancy mausoleum with candles or something, and my first thought was just a cityscape since some of the door/window/block arrangements looked like buildings, but crematorium seems most likely to me!

Just finished the game haven’t watched the video so what I say he may have already said. This game has a noticeably apparent theme and that is guilt. The “Marios”? most likely being a manifestation of Scott’s own guilt that is constantly carrying with him that possibly can be represented by the Mario continuously chasing him down, never letting go, as he hasn’t as well. Something i would like to point out as well is that when enter the wrong door in the dream like sequence the Marios swarm you, this too could also be a representation of Scott’s guilt overbearing him, bloating him with memories of the accident and the overwhelming sorrow. The big Mario and or Luigi i can not tell could be Scott’s inner conscience, him internally torturing himself under the assumption of fault,back on the subject of those Mario minions when Scott begins his process of healing you have to kill those marios in order to proceed the door say “no, not yet” meaning that Scott can not yet move on until all the guilt and shame is gone, rendered naught but a fleeting feeling, a second within hours. In all honesty I have quite a bit more to say but i want to wrap this up, getting too long, sorry if the writing is a little scuffed I want to get my interpretations out fairly quickly and I wanted to use this video as a means of discussion because i have come to love this game already i wish to see what other have to say as well :)

You know my favorite thing about the fake out is that even though I haven’t played any old Mario fan games I have played a TON of old sonic fan games and I can say, wrong sound effects, getting stuck on ceilings, the midi music and getting killed by enemies you hit is a part of the of the old fan game experience and im so glad it was replicated here, horror or not.

As a smart lore solver (im not smart at all), the analog horror ahh jumpscare has backwards sound. The: kfksbsnsodiehnfnf that the voice says, when put in reverse translates to: ”The community mounrs the loss of Michael Williams, and holds hope for Scott’s recovery.” Do what you want with this info.
