Woohoo!!! I have the same rod! And you’re right on the guides. I have seen surface rust on one. I cleaned them as soon as I get home. I’m thinking of coating it with some type of clear coat that resists saltwater.

Yep, that's the only issue I really have, but these guys are still absolute tanks and my first choice pier rods. Been eyeing those new Toadfish surf rods with the holiday sales...

@ I checked them out too, but wasn’t to happy about the size of the rod , I ended up putting my own together. 😅👌
