*Thanks for dropping by!* Forgot to mention in the video, but the S&M headtube decal will go back on along with some Specialized ones (when they show up, which will be months). I couldn’t find any Specialized Singlecross/Tricross decals but some retro Spesh decals should look good on it 😎👍 I might also refinish or paint the rack, I think just black because polished wouldn’t fit the bike. We’ll see. Merry Christmas all!

I absolutely love this frame so playful especially when running it in fixed, defenitly my favorite out of all my bikes

Thanks! I don’t know how that worked out 😅 luck I guess! The bike performed really well out there 🤌

I'm 6'3" and I have a bunch of smaller framed bikes as well. Like you, with longer seat posts, they work pretty well. I like this build. I'm not familiar with this frame, but its pretty slick looking. Would like to find more Specialized bikes to work with as the are thought of as a quality bike here in the U.S.A.

Cool! I’ve just recently seen a photo of that brake noodle hack. I’m happy to see it used here. Definitely going to keep that in my back pocket. Thanks so much!

Yeah definitely a great bike! 🤙 yep it’s a Specialized Tricross, the Ss one is known as a “Singlecross”! 🤌

Nice build. Seeing the first reveal I was thinking how much nicer it would look with just a little more color lol.

Thanks mate! Haha that’s exactly what I was thinking 😆 couldn’t quite put my finger on it at first

Sweet build! Only just got around to watching this. I think I might have left the question on the Avid Shorty Ultimate O-rings - they always perish leading to the loss of the red bits. Avid sells spares but you have to buy them *with* the red bits (and even now, they're becoming harder to source). If you do end up keeping a set of these brakes, 1/4" orthadontic ligature bands (for braces etc) are a cheap alternative that fit in the grove and area available in various colours by the hundred for a pittance. They don't last long either but are super easy to source.

I run schwalbe hurricane on my ghetto gravel bike. They are pretty good for how cheap they are

Do they handle well in the rear? I was pretty impressed with the one up front! Definitely looking forward to running them front/rear on a 26er 😎

the brake noodle routing is magical. the headset on those may seem a bit fucky, some fun SpecialGuys nonsense, but it can be replaced with a Cane Creek spec internal.

Well done !

forgive the late comment, but if you want to add the missing o-rings to those pivots, you can just buy some generic 9mm OD / 1mm thickness ones and they work perfectly! in practice i'm not sure how much it matters, but at least it prevents them from falling out of the arm when the cable is removed.

Spindatt must be stocked that you own a Tricross now. Well a Singlecross but still mostly the same Frame.

I would say so! Haha. They look awesome stripped 😍 yeah I think it’s pretty much the same, from what I’ve seen, just the rear dropouts are different?
@michaelzanotto8469 Жыл бұрын
Hi great build, yes I see how you like the saddle to bar drop, mustn’t be much post left in the seat post? Also no bell?
@toastyrides Жыл бұрын
Thank you! My bikes that run a lot of exposed posts are normally 350-400mm long, I try keep about 10cm in the frame (depending where the seattube-toptube join is. The post should be a few cm past that). You’d be surprised at how ineffective bells are, although I love ringing them 😅 they aren’t required here, and I don’t have enough decent ones to fit all my bikes. Ooh horns work well, though!

I have that same front fork just sitting around you can fit a 29er 2.5 tire on there it came on 2010 specialized tricross single speed bike I cracked the frame a few years ago✊😎. P.S. still wondering why they made that fork with such clearance on a cyclocross bike🤔.
@toastyrides Жыл бұрын
No way! 2.5?! 😆 that’s insane, didn’t try anything much wider on it because the rear maxes out around 2.0. But it’s cool to know it’s limit!
