Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out the video 🤙 so this adventure ended up a fun waste of time, but I’m glad I grabbed it. It’ll be going to a new home when Zane makes some space for it haha. Thanks for checking it out, there’s some build info in the description! Cheers 🤙🫶 Also there’s a bit of wind noise in the riding clips, but I have something to reduce it now for those windy as days! 🤙

hole in fork dropout is probably for an axle lock washer, just a washer that goes around the axle and has like a hook that sticks off and goes into the hole. never see them on qr axles but they're pretty common on solid axles

This is the right answer. I don't know what the proper name is but I always called them hook washers. They were to prevent tooth loss if you decide to pull a wheelie with loose wheel nuts. QR forks normally had nodules on the tips of the dropouts to serve the same function.

LOVE this frame. The hole in the dropouts is for a retainer safety washer, the little washers with the pin on them that keep your wheel from slipping out. Folks always tell me that canti brakes are a pain to set up but i love em, they were on everything i had when i was a kid so i learned how to set em up properly and now i run em anywhere i don't have discs.

had the same front canti/bag issue, i used a q-tip stem on the cable as i didn't have any spare cable housing, but it should work the same to prevent cutting into the bag with friction every time you brake

Hello I enjoyed your vidio. I have a nice collection of bikes. The hole in 5he front drop outs is for the safety washer which keeps the wheel from falling off if your lug nut is not tight. Since your hubs are quick release the safety washer has been eliminated. I used to work in a bicycles shop.

I have a peugeot road bike i bought when i was 14 years. Today while i am 44 it's my commuter bike. It has the same paint sheme than your mtb. These colours were very popular in France in the 90's. But these bikes were made in a very basic and heavy steal.

I've just discovered your channel and have been inspired to do up some of my old bikes. I've been out and bought the Evapo_rust and found it doesn't work in the cold temperature of the shed at this time of year so have moved it inside. All good now. Got some Autosol too. Brilliant stuff. A little goes a long way. My question is, what brand is the grease you are using on wheel bearings and head sets?

Sure is! 🤩 love the colourway of this bike! I have a Kona UnitX (2020) that I love. It has a steel frame but modern standards and it just rides beautiful 🤙 I also like the Stooge Cycles range, they’re quite cool! (Stooge are more exclusive than Kona etc but not necessarily expensive as some low production bikes). Some Marin (Nicasio and Larkspur) are pretty cool, too! 🤙 there are some out there, mostly the steel ones haha 😅

It is a shame, but at least it’ll be used and abused by Zane who’s a wonderful person 🤙🫶 yep that’s the plan! It’s already stripped and primed, just waiting for some more paint. I won’t do a video on it but I’ll post some photos on Instagram when it’s done 👍 The next build video is of a GT I’m painting anyway (which will get some criticism as the paint is pretty tidy 😂)
