One of the best videos that I have seen showing the eco side of Tobago. I have been to Castura Beach to bath. My friend and I drove through the rain forest and I was mesmerized by its beauty. I always tell people not to forget to drive through there. It was like if God landscaped it with his hands and blessed it with all his love. The snake and lizard story is not for me. I will stay nearer to the city. There are lizards everywhere in the tropics, but I hate them. If I saw that snake that would have been the end of the villa for me. That is the price you have to pay if you are a nature lover. Trinidad and Tobago has many species of snakes living among its remote and forested areas, but not in the cities and towns. I plan to spend winters in Tobago when it becomes possible, but surely not in that beautiful tree house.

I appreciate what you guys are doing so much! I have a question that I would always like to ask adventurous travelers. First some information to form a basis for my question. I have long been fascinated by Trinidad and Tobago. I had a friend from Port of Spain who told me about how beautiful Englishman's Bay is. That was maybe 30 years ago! And, of course, it's paradisiacal tropical beauty there. The westernmost tip of Trinidad is only about 30 miles from the Orinoco Bay in Venezuela (one of the most amazing watershed areas on the planet). Tobago...maybe 130 miles. So, the US State Department issues travel warnings for places around the world. Level 1 is normal travel precautions. Level 2 is exercise increased caution. Level 3 is reconsider travel, and Level 4 is do not travel. Trinidad and Tobago currently, and most likely when you travelled there, is Level 3, but I figure Trinidad and Tobago are lumped in together, which may change the game. Other Level 3 locations would be Papua New Guinea, Guyana (Africa), and Guatemala. Level 4 are places like Sudan, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela. My experience tells me that out-of-the-way islands, like Tobago, are safe, even in places where the mainland is very troubled. Take Providencia, a Columbian island which is off the coast of Nicaragua, as an example. Columbia and Nicaragua are quiet troubled, but Providencia is considered to be very safe. There are many such examples around the world. Yemen, a place where civil war is occurring, has an island called Socotra (an AMAZING place indeed) that is considered to be very safe. But you did actually visit Port of Spain which I would say is firmly in a Level 3 zone. So, after much ado, my question is that as obviously open minded travelers, how safe did you feel in Trinidad and Tobago? My hypothesis is that the travel advisories are blown out of proportion and that if you have good intent and take reasonable precautions that many more areas are safe then one would believe because of, for example, the US State Department travel advisories.

Hi! No right after the pandemic Trinidad wasn’t yet very suited for tourism. We hope to go back one day. Tobago is quite different from Trinidad, very laidback, little crime.. the best places on the island are very far from the towns and stores. It isn’t too big, but it is very isolated.
