Truly one of the best performances I've heard since Stern. A wonderful musician, with a top-notch orchestra and conductor. The poor guy was pretty unnerved by the whole broken string drama, but did handle it perfectly, picking up the movement spot on. It's hard to imagine the pressure these musicians are under.

Oh the 1st movement doesn't stay in the same tonal vicinity. It moves closer and further from the precipice as bartok sees fit. Wow

Actually I thought he as a bit weak in the second movement. Intonation was off. The broken string/being sent offstage probably threw him - though he handled it well when he traded instruments with the concertmaster to finish. And in the middle of the cadenza! The third movement was a nice return to form; he finished quite well.

Mature. It was written between 1937 and 1939 at the request of violinst Zoltan Szekely.

Ce concerto de Bartok est plein de contrastes , comme c'est souvent le cas , et même de brutalités pour celui-ci ; Aussi m,apprêtais-je à apprécier le choix d'un athlète- soliste quand il brisa une corde et du emprunter l’instrument du premier violon pour pouvoir continuer

Siento que el violin del concertino nones del mismo calibre que el del solista, mas de un violinista experimentado tuvo que haberlo notado. También la cuerda empezó a fallar desde antes. Toca con mucho vigor en el maestro
