I never considered glacial augment to be good on midlaners. It fits so well on control supports and feels kinda wasted on a midlaner when you are able to farm up items and build damage. SoloQ is so much different from LCS and people never seem to realise it.

The Glacial augment build is actually disgusting. There were multiple times in the teamfights with this velkoz where Tobais' entire team was literally just *stuck* in place. The problem is that the enemy team kept diving on top of them, so it didn't matter if Tobias and his team were slowed af; they didn't have problems getting to people this game. I've played against this, and watched games of this. Glacial augment is fantastic, but ffs you gotta know how to play it. If you get a lead on early in the game it also kinda squanders away that lead since you need crappy items. There were lots of teamfights where Velkoz kinda just......... walked away. Tobias is right; this velkoz was awful.

The build with those "crappy items" still has the highest win% in soloq (plat+). It gives you so much more cc, which is pretty much all vel'koz needs due to his high base damage combined with his passive. You might be right, this Vel'Koz didn't perform too well in mid to late game and the team didn't play around his utility enough but there is nothing wrong with the build.

guys, do you know what "situational" build means? it means that depending on the situation is good or bad, if your team is an enganging comp. (sion + tahm + xin zhao) you shouldn't build that , because that's for peeling or poking not for an engange comp. use your brain, is not that hard buddy.

It's not a fucking poke build. This is the exact opposite of the poke build lmao. For poke you go full damage and/or liandrys. Wtf are you even on about??

For those who don't understand why Tobias says that build is bad, because it does no dmg. Its great if your behind or even, due to cc, but when your ahead, you should push your lead and invest in carry items.

Also, ik it's 7mo late to explain, but competitive builds are WAY different at live, they are playing: -In a 5 team where they play DuoQ EVERY day or 5 man in competitve scenario -They know what they are doing with their team, they also have a coach -That build is a pick for a specific team, since they studied them before the game -You should hit power spike in live servers, during competitive scenarios you hardly get superior even if you die 3 times.

The thing about copying what you see in LCS is that most people who do it have no idea what the purpose of it is. LCS players sometimes do very specific things because of the team they're playing with (be it the comp or the players themselves), because of who they're playing AGAINST (comp or players, again), and sometimes it's just something they can do because they're that good at the game (and a normal player who tries to copy this stuff ISN'T good enough to do it properly). There are specific reasons, uses and situations for these gimmicks, and a lot of them are convoluted and hard to manage/pull off properly. So Tobias is kinda right. The build itself might be great, but players should really stop copying what they see on LCS, because they aren't playing in LCS and that shit isn't good for standard play with normal players.

reason why glp, glaical augment and twin shadows are pretty good on vel is because his ap scalings aren't that incredible expect for his q really. they aren't horrible, just not as big as some ap mages. if you run the glaical augment style, most would give up a good chunk of their damage for utility and defense, but vel doesn't give that much up. If i got fed early, maybe glp into some more offenseive options would of been better, but its still good on him

Too many people apparently can't understand the difference between pro play (LCS, Worlds, etc) and solo queue. In pro play, you're on a team of people you know and have been practicing with. You know they're good players, so you can take a support focused build just to help your carries snowball harder. I assume the purpose of this Vel'Koz build is that he won't do much damage but he'll slow enemies down so much that it's much easier for his teammates to come in and clean up. In solo queue you never know what kind of dog shit players you'll get on your team, so most often it's better to snowball your lead with a high damage build so you can hopefully take over the whole game.
