Exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you for your honest review. I wanted to go with the Blue Yeti bc it is well known but the Maono sound rounder (from what I've heard) and there is so many accessories! I just want to start a podcast, so I might change if it gets popular but I think for now it's good

Thanks Sarah! I'm glad I could help. I'm actually reaching out to Maono right now to try to see if they can tell me about the chipset that is going into the A04 mics right now, because apparently they switched to a new chip sometime during 2020. I got my A04 back in 2019. A few people have told me that they recently got the A04 and that it sounds different from mine. So if you do get the A04 I would recommend trying it out immediately and if you don't like the way it sounds try to return it ASAP for free

@@TobiasHolenstein Quick update: Already received!! Surprisingly sounded fine but it was better when you added filters on OBS. I still decided to returned it because it was doing horrendously with a virtual audio cable (myvoice started to get distorted)

From the last week alone I've given you and aliexpress the most watch hours I've ever given any channel in my life lol Thank you so much kind sir xD Best microphone reviews EVER! AU-A04 (without the stand) is going for 30 euros on Aliexpress, cheaper than amazon spain. If I can't find a 401 under 50€ i guess i'll gamble the chance of getting the new chip and buy A04.

This years au ao4 manufactured mic comes with a different chip it makes a difference. Can you please tell which year’s manufacturer is your maono au ao4

Yeah so they seem to both work fine with smartphones. As for the A04 you can use it with just an OTG adapter and your smartphone, like I did in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGS6fmSLpd1oabs and for the Blue Yeti, I was able to get it to work on my iphone using the OTG adapter and also a powered USB hub like I did in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5imlHVnhsyjj7c

I tend to buy things based on instinct because im an overthinker and i know i can really get stuck making decisions if i take too long. I just bought the a04 to replace my modmic wireless, which is sad cause i payed so much for that modmic, but it was my first mic and I wasnt familar with what i should be looking for. you can unscrew the top of the mic and look for the chip number in the board itself.

really thought blue yeti would crush both au-a04 and au-pm461tr because blue yeti is just that well known and has the "go-to" reputation. surprised to hear that i prefer both maono mics than the yeti and they are both cheaper.

Hi Tobias! how can I plug my headphones in my pc so I can hear myself? (MAONO AU-A04)

Just plug them into the regular headphone jack on your PC and then in the program you are using you need to enable software monitoring and that will let you hear yourself. Most programs should be able to do it. If you want to tell me which program you are using to record, I can see if I can help tell you how to do it

No you don't, most of the Maono mics are USB mics, so they act as an interface and get power through the USB plug

For the A04 you would have to do all that in your computer. You could change the gain in your system preferences and to mute it, you would just have to mute it in the program you are using to record
