My dad was a WWII vet and POW, he was a warrior. He was a member of a 3 man machine gun crew that was captured after running out of ammo at the Hurtguen forest. He was and still is my hero. I think he would of Toby.

Thank you for this video. I happen to be the woman in the red dress. I am holding my brother's memorial card. He served our country in the Marines. His service cost him his sanity and ultimately his life. Through it all he was PROUD of the fact that he was a MARINE!! I have had at least one member of my family in military service every generation going back to the Civil war. Great-Grandfather was a FB Col. in the ARMY serving in WWI and WWII! My father, another brother and son in the ARMY. My son is active duty. THANK YOU to all who have served and to all those who are in service. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!!!!!

This was AMAZING! My Grandfather fought in WW2, in the Battle of the Bulge. Thankfully, came home safely, and my Mother was born approx 10 months later in 1946! Sadly tho, he was cheated out of living his golden years after a battle with cancer took his life at only 55yrs old. He'd be 99yrs old today and as the 1st grandchild and then only granddaughter, I've been told I was the apple of his eye. Boy what I would give to have known him as an adult, instead of losing him as an 8yr old lil girl. I'd have so many questions for him, and would've enjoyed hearing about his war stories. But guess I'll have to wait until God calls me home. Thanks TOBY KEITH for all you do for the Military, and the honorable songs you write just for them. My grandpa was also in wwII as one of the truck drivers. He survived the war but later died during his time as a rail road worker. Sadly my siblings and I never got to meet him, he didn’t even get to see my dad (his son) marry my mom.

My grandfather and 2 great-uncles all served in the Navy during WWII, one of them thankfully being at sea from Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941, as well as 4 uncles in the Army and Army Air Corps. Thankfully they all came home, and I was humbled to still have them around when I was serving in the Army. Truly the greatest generation (them, not me).
