One thing you can do on that C* is just pull off your middle finger on the D string and let it ring open for 1 strum then back on to a C. Super easy and sounds pretty good. Thanks for the lesson!

I've always opted for a Bb where the C* is called out here. A lot of good passing tones available here I think, but that one always sounded good to me.

Fun fact; Fennario is actually the old Scottish word for a region called Fife (where I’m originally from). Peggy-O which references Fennario was at one time called “The Bonnie Lass O’ Fyvie” or “The Maid Of Fife”. The name Weir also comes from Fife. One time during the 2000s Bob Weir and Ratdog played at the Kirkcaldy ice rink, which is around the area the name Weir would have originated. It’s also the town I was born in.

Bro... I almost puked from laughing so hard at that pic of Ted Cruz next to the police sketch of the zodiac killer... He's got that stupid grin, like he knew he was posing for a comparative shot with the sketch.🤣😂 Oh, man, that wrecked me. I gotta watch it again.🙉🙈🙊

Hey Davvy, LOVE your videos, I’ve watched nearly all of the play dead stuff but would fuckin love more acoustic lessons. Also a request very dear to me (although not an acoustic lesson)is the dead’s version of ‘I’m a hog for you’ the version off of the skull and roses reissue from like 2003 I think, they haven’t released the song any other time I’m pretty sure. Would love a lesson on that if you have the time bro. Much love from Ireland

Hey Davvy, Jman here asking if you could lmk the best amp I could purchase for just at home jamming. I just got a Takamine thinline acoustic/electric and need a amp to bring out those sounds I know this baby can produce. Thanks bud and as always I app-re-she-ate cha' and all that u do.
@TobyDavvy
@TobyDavvy 2 жыл бұрын
If you’re just gunna be jamming on the acoustic, an acoustic amp would be best. Something that has some reverb and tone shaping. The ACOUSTIC A20 is pretty good and pretty cheap.

I assume the skipped verses are just played like the 1st? 1) When I awoke the dire wolf... 2) In the backwash of Fennario...
@superchamp44
@superchamp44 2 жыл бұрын
You can do it that way but I think if you are playing along with a recording like on Reckoning, the "when I awoke" and "the wolf came in" versus are actually the same. Yes the Timbers.. and Backwash... (first and last) are the same. You can also think of this song with 3 different verse varieties, no bridge (even though Davy's bridge thing is hilarious every time).
