Rest in peace brother. You only lived 62 short years but lived 104 in accomplishments. Thank you for the songs written from your heart that showed us to look to the good and funny things first. Your support of our troops and First Responders will always be remembered. Your trust in God was obvious. See you on the other side.

No one lives to 124 but 104 maybe. Toby achieved an incredible body of work, raised his family, kept his band working, supported the military and First Responders, set up charities, kept up with his friends. It's exhausting to think of how busy that man was but he made it all fit.

Country music is the kind of music that you can let your kids listen to and not worry that it will give them bad ideas. I first heard this song 15 years ago when it first came out. It really hit home as I was going through a lot at the time. As an ADHDer and with mental health issues, "The List" has key elements in the lyrics for daily survival. Lists to remember and stay on task, live with the real needs of life, prioritize what is important, etc., do today what needs to be done, NOT what you want to do, be with people that are special in you life. The melody also had a soothing effect, while relaying the message. Also, at this time, my wife lost her 5-year battle with breast cancer. Something I cannot reclaim back. Toby Keith was a blessing and genius in his song writing. So sorry he is no longer with us. RIP

Im here 9•2024 as well 🙂 I grew up on Toby Keith so lota of his music is in my playlist.. My son is only 8 yrs old and Toby Keith was/is one of his favorite artists. He darn near cried when i told him Toby died😢. He likes to go outside before bed for "fresh air" it helps him sleep. Tonight he said "mama, can i go out and TAKE A DEEP BREATH of air?" It reminded me of this song. I havent heard this one in quite a while but its the firat thing i thought of when he said that and i instantly started singing "go for a walk, say a little prayer, take a deep breath of mountain air" and my son looked at me like i had ten heads and said HUUHHHHH???? 😂 I told him its a song by -and as soon as i said- Toby Keith, he wanted to hear it. So he fell asleep listenning to this tonight after taking his deep breath of (NOT mountain) air 🙂

I can live to see my 125th birthday but I wouldn't do half of the life Toby lived in 62 years. I was always proud of the few minutes of your time that you voluntarily gave a couple young soldiers in Iraq in 2009.
