I've been watching quite a few of these interviews that Toby did with left-wing leaning hosts (Steve Colbert, Joy Behar, Wendy Williams, etc..) and what was so special about Toby Keith was that despite the political differences that he might have had with these hosts, he found a way to find a common ground with them which had invoked great, long lasting friendships with them. In the days after he passed away - many of these hosts released touching and very heartfelt tributes to him, and the incredible man that he was. In this day and age - THAT - especially says something!!!! Just about every American has demonized their opposing political party - myself definitely included - but Toby set a remarkable example that proved that doing that isn't the right away to go - especially if we are ever going to truly unite our country. As an American Patriot myself - I've always loved and appreciated Toby, for his music and for the way he celebrated his patriotism proudly and unapologetically with infectious pride and enthusiasm. I hope and pray that he knew just how much of a dearly beloved national treasure he was. He was a true man of honor, stoicism and character - his songs and his memory will live in infamy.
