Congratulations on your new home!!! You're right when you said things happen for a reason. My husband and I sold our home in the suburbs and moved into a modern urban condo and we love where we live Monday through Friday but missed our gardens. We started viewing cottages on a lake a few hours north from us. We fell in love with an 90 year old cottage that has been owned by the same family and handled down but unfortunately because of high property taxes,the family no longer felt it financially feasible. When we bought it and the owner said they were so happy we did,they said they knew their beautiful cottage went into loving hands❤ Now we really do live a dual lifestyle, town and country 😊

Honestly, you’ve so done the right thing! We have a 2 bed 1 bathroom apartment just outside the city that we rent out. This allows us to enjoy our 3 bed 2 bathroom apartment in a coastal city for work, beach, evenings out, meet ups and entertaining. At the weekends and holidays, we drive out to our cottage deep in the countryside to unwind and disconnect. It was a big project that’s almost done (of course the garden and land will always need work), we still have lots to do but it’s fine. Being able to live to suit your lifestyle is truly a blessing. I’m so looking forward to continuing with your journey and getting more home design tips.. you have such good taste! Enjoy your blessings guys, take your time and live for you. I know the feeling of living in a rural village 😅 we just have one pub and that's it! The closest shop is a 10 minute drive away! 😅 you just adapt and plan ahead and its fine👌Congratulations both of you on your beautiful second home 💗 i can't wait to see the tour xx i love the idea of a bigger house but i can't justify the costs. We will stay in our little 2 bed bungalow as long as we can and hopefully can extend in the future 🙌 we have recently added a warm roof to our conservatory and its made a huge difference 😍
