Bravo, an Orgelbauer Meister Arp Schnitger, den Komponist Dieterich Buxtehude, und natürlich an den Organisten Pier Damiano Peretti.

Thank You for this, Master Peretti. What a beautiful recording on Schnither's work, and the effulgent meantone tuning. You especially mastered the two passages following 06:43; that trill fit perfectly. Best regards: Moses K. Frost

Das Werk ist große Kunst, aber diese Interpretation ist für mich die einzig wahre. Buxtehude wäre stolz - insoweit ich das beurteilen kann.

Just EXCELLENT! Never heard this played any better! Sgnr. Peretti artistic in his choice of registration changes at key points throughout the piece. The old theory was that changes in registration during playing was impossible due to the stop knobs being out to the sides of the keyboard & having to be pulled out & pushed in so far. Obviously, Buxtehude, Bach & all the rest had assistants perform that task as proven here. Again, a wonderful performance! Thanks for posting this!!!

His changes between the pedal reeds were spectacular.

Fkin great touch man close to the keys. And a constant Reed in the bass. This is the orthodox phantasticus style.

That's a very philsosophical ellipse sentence.

Too bad this sizable, beautiful and famous instrument resides in a room almost devoid of any acoustic.

Typical Lutheran 'preaching box'. One reason why Schnitgers, Müllers etc are so crisp - there's no hiding place for an organist! A big acoustic can cover a multitude of sins!

It sounds a bit too thoughtful lieber Freund . Please, go WiLD! The listener doesn't have to witness a super-controlled realisation of an 'Urtext' score. Score are just Anleitung zur Musik'. Music, the ear-art you know. Drag the listener along in an overwhelming exposé. Buxtehude's keyboard music IS rich story-telling first class. Realize this without hesitation. Convince! Overwhelm! You are already a great man of the muses!

Ironic how someone playing a barebones organ such as this makes just as good music.
