This is what the team is they over achieved last season you are not getting career seasons out of the whole lineup two seasons in a row and they were also injury free until the playoffs last season. What you are seeing now are the real Canucks

Tocc has made a culture where some guys are scared to make creative plays in the chance it doesn't go well and they get benched or sent to Abby. I also don't like his style of entering the zone by dumping and chasing. Great guy on personality level but he refuses to use time outs as well. I think if management didn't like him so much he probably would've been gone by now.

The team laid an egg. Big game let down? Either way they need a 2nd pairing defenseman. The 4 Nations is complicating things, and the mgmt not willing to give up Lekkerimaki, Willander, D Petey is also a factor. I'm sure everyone wants them, and Rutherford and Allvin are too cagey to be fleeced. Coaches can only play who they have. I can see Sasson as sweetener to get off of Vinny's contract. Hoglander and a 1st for the 2nd pair D man that can eat minutes, and is signed or will sign here.

When do these guys realize that they are paid MILLIONS of dollars to play a game? It may be hard work, but it's not rocket science. I played for 26 years, in the hardest position to play (the goal) and for 5 1/2 of those years it was at a pretty high level. We DID'NT get paid, but you played your best or you sat. Maybe it's past time that Coach Tocchet started sitting guys like Petterson, Boeser, Soucy, and Myers, not just on the bench during a game scenario, but up in the press box for a couple of games. Send Desharnais and Juulsen down to Abby and give some of the guys down there a chance. Keep playing guys like Sherwood, Sasson, and DeBrusk, and bring up Lekkarimaki, and maybe finally give Wollanin a chance... and the coach needs to get his head right too, he doesn't seem to be willing to make hard choices or do the things he did last season to get the work out of this team.

I totally agree with you . There needs to be accountability. Like you ,I’ve played goal all my life. Not to the higher levels that you have played . But one thing is for certain . In every game I have played, you know exactly how well you have played, or how badly you have played. I know myself , if I have played badly ,I work hard to try and be better for the next game…We get paid nothing , and I’m sure most guys like us would’ve loved a chance to play in the NHL , even if it was for free! It’s very tiring to hear about these millionaire players, saying the same rhetoric over and over again. One game you see the Canucks play a full 60 minutes , and beat Florida. Then the next game , the Canucks are completely invisible, lose an uninspiring game to Boston. I’d rather see a team that competes hard every night , and tries even if they lose , than a team that’s loaded with talent, but takes off every other night. I also agree that to me , it starting to sound like Tocchet is losing the room. I mean he has game plan, but the team doesn’t seem to be willing to do what he asks. When the Canucks play like they should , they dominate. When they don’t follow the game plan, it’s just a mess…

Just because Demko has just returned to the lineup isn’t an excuse for his poor play in the two games he has played, I guess he is just too good to go to Abby for some conditioning starts
