Today's Catholic Mass Gospel and Reflection for April 25, 2024 - Mark 16:15-20

We proclaim Christ crucified; he is the
power of God and the wisdom of God.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel: Mark 16:15-20
Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: “Go forth to the whole world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. But whoever does not believe will be condemned. Now these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name, they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
And after the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. Then they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it.

Reflection: How can we follow Saint Mark's example and share the story of Jesus in our own lives, inspired by the Holy Spirit and aligned with God's will?
Prayer: Glorious Lord Jesus, You gave Your followers the great mission to preach Your Gospel to the ends of the world. I thank You for the ways that Saint Mark responded to Your inspiration and was used in such a powerful way. Please use me, dear Lord, as an instrument of Your grace so that I can share in the mission You have given to the Church. Jesus, I trust in You.

A wonderful account of the spiritual commitment that Saint Mark had for Christ. It is so incredible that Saint Mark like all the other Saints directed their faith in Christ in a humble and productive way. It makes clear to us that it is our responsibility to live our lives in obedience to the will of God when we are called upon in His service. The incredible commitment that all the Saints had to their specific callings shows us that the Father is present in those who, without question, endeavor to honor and glorify His Kingdom. Matthew 9:37-38 I believe best describes the actions of those who obediently follow Him, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his." This is the commitment we have taken on when we received forgiveness by the cross, to humbly serve with humility the will of God! This is a win win commitment that we undertake, a win in our obedience to God, and a win in glorifying and honoring His Kingdom. 🙏💖🕊🕊🕊
