I've owned 3 Monte Carlos, '73, '77 and '99. The 77 was the BEST one I've owned, I LOVED it, it was fully equipped, but it had something someone special ordered, that you'd only see on Cadillacs, it had a 6 position tilt/telescopic steering column. When I bought it, it ran like JUNK, but it was NICE, so I took it to AAA diagnostics, found out the timing was 8° retarded, someone didn't disconnect and plug the vacuum advance hose. Took it home, took out my timing light, and unplugged the vacuum line to the advance, loosened the distributor, reset the timing, plugged it back up, and it ran like a top! Put some KYB gas shocks all the way around, dropped 4 new Dulop GT qualifiers on it, it rode like a Cadillac and handled like a Porsche!

The '59 Fairlane is worthy of becoming a classic car all over again. It's not a parts car, that's something I would debate, it just needs the proper restoration, perhaps only where needed
