Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint John
Jn 15, 1-8
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “I am the true vine and my Father is the vinedresser. The branch that does not bear fruit in me, he plucks out, and the one that does bear fruit he prunes so that it may bear more fruit.
You are already purified by the words I have told you. Remain in me and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches; He who abides in me and I in him, he bears abundant fruit, because without me you can do nothing. He who does not abide in me is cast out, like a branch, and withers; Then they pick it up, throw it into the fire and it burns.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be granted to you. The glory of my Father consists in their bearing much fruit and thus manifesting themselves as my disciples.
What does the word of God say?
The Word of God is living and effective and sharper than a double-edged sword. It penetrates to the root of the soul and spirit (Hebrews 4, 12). The Word of God is like a love letter from our Father God to guide us along the path of life in the midst of so many temptations and difficulties.
