South Africans got no relief from government during covid , yet municipalities cut light and block meter as well and turning peoples water of. My electricity went up 100% i dont know how its possible and our area the meters are in eskom boxes so we cant varify it to be true. They laid new cables throughout but hasnt connected it yet. 12 months. Suppose to put meters in our hiuses. Its corruption through and through.

The tarrifs of Eskom is totally outrages and unacceptable. Immediate action is needed to stop this. Eskom through the years made a lot of profit which went straight into the pockets of Eskom board. This also caused a failure in the necessary maintenance that should of been done on a regular basis.This caused our citizens and country to suffer due to loadshedding.

The Cape Municipality charges the highest electrity in South Africa, above the Nersa prescribed rate. They charge R3.43kWh for usage upto 600kWh and R4.75 for more than 601kWh plus R256 surcharge. Consumer Eskom direct in CT pay R2.67kWh and no surcharge. To feed solar home solar back into the grid is not worth the R0.75kWh payment from the city. Who is exploiting who? The Municipality in CT even rip the the rate payer R211.44 for fixed water basic charge for 25mm feed pipe. This was supposed be temporary for the drought in 2015.

In the city of Cape Town electricity is supplied in some areas by the DA and others directly by Eskom. DA charges 36% more than Eskom and a R260 service fee. DA are the last ones to talk about exploitation.
