I ordered the R-07 yesterday, Glad I did. Your demo proved to me I made a good choice. I needed a better audio recorder than the GoPro has and I think this is it. All I have to do is clap my hand in camera view so I can sinc video with audio during Video editing using DaVinci Resolve. Thank you for the best review on the net.

You do not have to sync the audio if you are coming from the Roland R-07 straight to camera input. Just plug your Roland's headphone jack to your camera mic input. You can adjust your output levels on your Roland as well as your camera. Then use your Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds to monitor your audio signal. Beautiful setup.

Great recording device . The only problem with this latest version is that when you press the buttons they don't respond immediately and sometimes you have to press multiple times to get the function working. It happend in my old model which eventually broke down for that precise reason. I bought a new one and there's the exact same problem. I guess my next option will be Zoom as they seem to be better built though they are too big and chuncky and the bluetooth option is cumbersome. Apparently Roland has stopped producing these machines in general now
@3VAudioVideo3 жыл бұрын
The SD card cover has a little tab on in (in your video, there is a "1" on it, but mine has a "4" so it won't be the same for everyone who gets one) made for the user to press the card in as well as to allow them to press/eject the card out. If it only ejects out just a little and it's still hard to remove by using your fingers, just turn the recorder upside down and only a little gentle shake, at most, is needed to completely remove the card. BTW, thanks for the unboxing - I removed mine in a different way that did not expose my view to show that it does come with batteries :)

@@stanleytam5429 Just be careful with that little tab. Just last week it started to bend and almost break off from using it so much. If that happens to you and you close it without an SD card inside, the tab may get jammed into the card slot.

@@stanleytam5429 Congrats! I use mine for concerts (with an external mic). 2hr MP4 is only 300KB. And I move my files off it onto my HD after every show. So 8GB is enough, but even so, I got a 32GB card and use that instead. I never tried WAV at a concert. I know WAV is supposed to sound better but I don't really notice it in my case. Most of the latest videos on my channel is from the R-07 (unless the battery died and then I just use the crummy built in mic in the camera). Enjoy your new recorded!

Hi Lawrence! I got a question. When you have your external 25$ mic connected to the Roland device, how do you connect Roland to your Sony a7r camera? @@TodayIFeelLike at the regular MSRP, I would definitely put an extra $20 and go with the Zoom H5, H4n, or Tascam DR-40X, even the regular DR-40. But at $85 price mark/category, there's nothing that can beat it. Both Zoom H1n and Tascam DR-07X are $120. The only other decent recorder below $100 is the Tascam DR-05X. I agree; this is a basic compact field-recorder and the built-in mics are integral to its purpose: pull it out of your pocket, turn it on, set it down, and record. The input jack is just an added bell-and whistle.
@bthemedia5 жыл бұрын
You Need to Normalize Audio DB Levels in your video. Playing “loud” recording from recorder and “quiet” recording from the camera is inaccurate comparison. Either adjust the input levels when recording (preamps) or raise the levels/volume on your final video to compare audio quality (vs simply VOLume).
