Hi Jay, that’s the beauty of gardening, nature has it’s own way to survive and roses are sturdy plants.🌹

😅 I'm not really surprised. Plants love stinging nettles and imagine the nutrients in the soil. My beds get an annual feed of a liquid I make from fermenting nettles. I plant my tomatoes on a bed of cut-up nettles.Thanks for sharing 😊

The logs would work well to elevate potted rose up to eye level. I do that using old foundation stones. Then either plant trailing flowers in the rose pot to conceal the pot and support or if the pot is too tight with roots, then just place 3 or 4 pots of trailing flowers in their own pots on top of the soil surface of the rose pot, they will traildown and conceal the pot and support. Facinating information about Lilac Wine, it shows her tolerance for low light, some roses do want a shaded situation. I like your kind of vieos because they show reality, not fantasy. For fantasy go to seller's web sites or catalogs, for reality, we refer to vieos like yours.

Hello, Jay! I just found your videos and subscribed. I’ve been watching your videos everyday. I really enjoy them. Your gardens are so pretty, vibrate colors to look at. All the Roses are absolutely Beautiful! I’ve never seen those types of different Roses here in the US (currently South FL) or in TX. I have quite a Rose collection myself but in pots at the moment and lots of other different palms/ flowering plants. I love to garden makes me happy! Thank You for making these Videos I enjoy them. Can you share what kind of soil/fertilizer food method you use which I’m sure are different products here in the US but curious. Thank you take care!

Hi there and I’m really sorry I missed this comment. Very kind words and glad you enjoy the content. Over the past few years I’ve tried different things with regard to feed but this year I’ve gone with David Austin rose feed and 2 or 3 inches of plant based organic mulch. Then alternate weeks I’m spraying my roses with organic comfrey tea and the following week with uncle toms rose tonic which is environmental friendly. And I will see how I get on with this. Thanks so much for your time and effort in commenting and apologies for not responding sooner.

That rose is very resilient, and when rose space is at a premium then the possibility of the stinging nestles being replaced by roses is a chance to peruse the nurseries:)

Jay... I just ordered Amadeus, Bliss and Pomponella Fairytale. I'll see how Amadeus does here in Texas. Xoxo

Great roses and I’m pretty sure roses that will do well in your climate. Those roses all doing very well for me here. Be interesting to see how Amadeus gets on with your heat. If you do have thunder storms it’s flowers will laugh at it. :)

Yes indeed I only say it today. It’s an overlooked corner of the garden a fantastic surprise.

Apparently dumping food scraps & old potting soil there is enough for this lassie. Sometimes, a rose just has to grow!

Indeed I’m thinking of promoting her next year to a new and better spot :)

I think that rose appears to be somewhat nettled by its discarding. I think it would sign its missive.... Yours sincerely, Lilac Whine

@@Jay_Jayin ALL seriousness.... even the condition of your rose weeds is far better than any of my treasured plants! That kind of tells us both something, doesn't it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Oh, and the automatic notifications stopped arriving to me, I have been hearing that KZbin is failing in that regard as of late.

Since it's worked so hard to survive, are you going to give it a place in the sun or leave it where it is flourishing?
@vintagelady15 ай бұрын
If it works, don't fix it! My Dad taught me that...

Funny nik I’m not sure my original reply came out? I did consider promoting it next year to the place next to my other timeless charisma, (the one that isn’t doing as well.) it will get more sun there but yeah I’m tempted to just leave alone and maybe clear the nettles around its base to give it a fighting chance.

@@Jay_Jay Your first reply must have dropped through the holes in the Net! By the way, my micro-leafed Abraham Darby is now developing some normal leaves - but it's trailing behind everything else.
