Thank you so much for rolling the dice, as you say, & taking us all along on your magical rose trip. You are so knowledgeable about the Kordes roses, & I'm glad a couple of them followed you home! It does become overwhelming in these places with dozens of roses, each more lovely than the last. The pink rose you were wishing you'd got th name of might possibly---just possibly be Eleganza Pink Enchantment, also Souvenir de Baden-Baden, breeder name KORSOUBA. Your rose is more intensely pink, which is what Heirloom roses (in the States) says this one does in cool weather, turns white in the heat. The little scallops at the edge of the petals made me think it could be this rose. Thank you for the tour!

Hello JayJay, Thanks a lot for sharing this travel, I’m very much happy to see the head quarter of Kordes. It’s listed in my dream travel list together with Rosen Tantau. There is also a big rose garden in the north with mixed brand roses and they have even a hotel to accommodate guest. I loved both Kordes and Rosen Tantau roses and I feel blessed that I can directly order from them. Courage rose from Kordes Eleganza collection is stunning, I saw this rose on the catalogue 2019 but now on your video, it’s really beautiful. Another rose caught my attention is the pink rose in the last part of this video, it is so pretty, it could be 'Flora Colonia' a bush rose from 2014 or 'Home & Garden' a garden bed rose from 2001. I will call and check it from Kordes because I really like it and goes along with 'Pashmina' rose colour. Rosanna is calling me, she is also very beautiful as a climber, the flower looks more like a hybrid tea rose. Good choice from the lady working there, 'Garten Princessin Marie Jose’ aka 'Fruity Parfuma' is a delight from the colour of the leaves and the flowers. 🌹🌹

It's interesting what you say about being met with less good marketing and the sort of welcome, elaborateness, access and beauty of uk plant nursery gardens. I find in France where some sellers ask you to phone for a visit by appt only only to find you phone, they are hardly forthcoming and say they are not currently open. You really wonder how they earn a living whereas obviously Kordes, Tantau have been breeding, growing for decades. It can be a bit frustrating though if you have travelled a distance and wish to see the specimens and see some rose plants with no label nor can you see them all right up close.

9:55 Wow! Jasmina. Such a wonderful effect! pendulous, nodding racemes of blooms swaying in the wind like a botanical mobile. 20:23 Wow! The petal arrangement is above and beyond most roses. 24:31 Yes, there have been years that hard, hammering rain bruised my Earth Angel blooms, they bruise easily, but I love her dearly just the same. 25:46 I am wondering if there is a Paschmina besides my Paschmina Veranda, because what you are showing us has none of the green blush that Veranda has. Also, Paschmina Veranda patent has recently expired, so perhaps it is not commercially viable for Kordes to promote Paschmina Veranda. Besides, her almost certainty to ball/mummify in prolonged wet weather. Yes, what you are showing us is definitely no Paschmina Veranda. The name Veranda also implies that she remains small for a container on a veranda. The moment that I first saw her, I knew that I must have her, it required 3 years, but miraculously I finally got her via Etsy of all places! Lovely! Thank you for the show and tell. Kordes does not have the imperial gorgeous architecture of David Austin, Kordes looks like emphasis is on production and less on architecture.

Hi there. Yes sorry about this. It’s not a rose I have so unsure on its health. But the thanks very much for making this point. I know from experience if blackspot exists in the garden it can spread to even the healthiest of roses. There were a couple of roses I was surprised to see blackspot. Pomponella being one. Mine doesn’t start to get it until late summer usually. Amadeus is another I’ve not noticed blackspot issue before this year. If I saw blackspot here I pointed it out. Florentina is a rose I nearly bought so many times it does look fab and glad yours is doing very well. Thanks once again for making this point as that’s important. Cheers

THANK YOU SO MUCH for these tours, of Tantau & Kordes! Did you find out the name of the Pink at 32:00? I am still more WOWED, by the roses at Tantau! I hope I can find them in the USA! ~ from Washington state USA

Hi there. Really sorry I didn’t get the name of this rose. It was lovely but my brain was elsewhere at time of recoding this rose. I’ll have a guess and say Wellenspiel. But I’m hoping someone can come to the rescue.

I still think one of the most beautiful orange Roses is Westerland.

Yes I agree sadly it didn’t get too much of a mention in this video but mine today probably has the most lovely flower in my garden. And that is rose Westerland for you. :)

....... The Asians are creating some wonderful looking roses also, but they seldom have sufficient information to help decide whether to buy or not. Some of the Japanese roses really do look phenomenal, but I want a lot of information before I buy.

Yes Japanese roses indeed. They putting out some cracking roses but again I’d like to see more info before I buy.
