When Tuchel got the sack, I genuinely laughed. A manager comes in, mid-crisis at a club, and within 5 months he gets Chelsea the Champions League trophy. Then 7 months ago, after the owner buys strikers that Tuchel doesnt want, has a fight with him, then they lose once to Southhampton 2-1 and a Champions League match to Zagreb, the fans turn ON THE MANAGER!! ONE MONTH INTO THE SEASON!!! Also, to quote Rory here at 3:44: "We were pro-active, we spent money, we made lots of changes, we bought in new players". To add to that, they also sacked a few managers. Do you know why? Because you have an owner who: A) Doesnt really know what he's doing and isnt listening to more experienced people in the industry.... But also B) Who IS listening to all the loud fans at Chelsea Football Club. "Get rid of Tuchel!", so he did. "Spend more money on getting the best young players!", so he did. "Get a rebuild manager", so he did. Now I'm not saying he made the right calls in those departments at all, but what I AM saying is that this isnt just Todd Boehly's fault. Some Chelsea fans need to own up to the fact that they are also responsible for this.

I love this notion of the "fabric" of a football club. If you had to describe Barcelona or Arsenal, you think slick passing football - based on their history, if you think of Madrid, Liverpool and United, you think of stars and teams that win while having some of the best players in their teams. Chelsea sadly have won. But if you look at it, the players we love, Drogba, Terry, Lampard, Cole, Makalele, Essien, Ballack, Cech - all players that played their best football in a defensive structure, mainly under Jose Mourinho, where we got our moniker - a park the bus team, get a goal, then shut up shop. Under Ancelotti, we saw a manager that took those players, with their experience, aswell as techy players like Deco, to make a system that suited to score goals. But again, we still didnt have a "style of play". We got the 2012 UCL with pure luck (aka Destiny) and only saw a style when Sarri came in, however, he wasnt on the level of a Pep or Klopp in that winning wasnt his main concern, he only cared for the style. Tuchel again was pragmatic in his approach but implemented the Gaggenpress. However, he took us backward with the signing of Lukaku. There is nothing to recognise at Chelsea. City went out and brought in half of the Barca senior Execs like Bigiristein etc to get Pep in to get a style of play - something they never had under Mancini or Pellegrini although they won titles. Liverpool got Rodgers for his style but saw that he could not see it through given he is NOT a winner, so they hired Klopp. Until we make the right choice and bring in a coach that implements a style - we will never have a DNA, a style, or even notice what our club is. As of now, Chelsea are a winning club, fans dont care how we win, if we do - yay, if we dont then sack the coach and onto the next one. But we need an Ethos within the club. Potter was a nice guy, he was never going to implement the winning mindset together with the style of play required at a big club. If we hire Enrique and he lives up to expectations, he will come in, make us winners, like he did with Barca, but then he will implode and leave us in a worse position.

Perfect to come in as a manager after a crisis season with lots of good players to work with. Just need to trim the squad (a lot) add 2-3 new signings identified by the new manager, and Chelsea will have a better season, but not in Europe.

@@geir8849 I meant for Chelsea to find some consistency, they cant sign up coaches which are known to last 2-3 years at best. Enrique has twice now left the team he's managing due to poor results, he did so at Barca, who went for a timid coach like Ernesto Valverde and Spain. Conflict within a club between management and Owners shows on the pitch. Thats what happened first time round with Jose, it happened with Conte. And clearly Enrique told the sporting directors at Chelsea somethings, maybe guarantees he wanted, maybe crazy wages, maybe certain powers he wanted above Head Coach, that gave them the feeling that he's not the right guy especially if you have young players, spent alot of money, you need to bring players together, not fight for new players.

As an Arsenal Fan, and putting banter + club rivalry aside, it hits a little closer to home seeing Chelsea flounder this season. It wasn’t long ago that we were in a similar, seemingly helpless situation with a squad of players that made our club look unrecognizable. Boehly has tried to Americanize the Prem and it’s backfired horribly. I do think a PROPER manager sorts a lot of the issues out on his own though

Attacking minded builds a solid defence, great man manager, tactically proficient and is a proven winner both internationally with Asian cup (Australia) and domestically in the SPL with Celtic, J-league with Yokohama, A-League with Brisbane Roar.
