I love how RH's voice cracks here and there. It adds a certain vulnerability to the character of Todd. It only adds to his appeal. He tries to be so ugly, so cold...so "whatever." And obviously, there are aspects of those traits in his soul & personality but the ugliness is tempered by the tenderness & beauty. What a well-written, brilliantly-acted and complex soap character! I love him to pieces!

Andrew and Larry Wolek are two of the only people in town who treated Todd like a human being with some caring and respect. Notice he reciprocated and acted differently towards them as well for the most part.

Todd tries so hard to hide the fact that he cares for Marty, but it just doesn't work. You would think that by now he would be a pro at hiding his feelings, but when it comes to Marty and Blair he just can't do it. He is so obvious about how he feels, can you imagine how passionate he would be if he actually allowed himself to show his feelings? Of course, according to Todd, showing feelings (especially love and with exception to hate) shows frailty and gives people the chance to hurt you.

I do get why the writers were drawn to Marty and Todd. They had an abundance of chemistry and story wise it's got so much twisted angst to explore. But you just can't unring that bell. Many bring up Luke and Laura as a way to show that it can be done, for me it's completely different. Unlike with Luke and Laura we saw every brutal detail of what Todd did to Marty and it wasn't just as the frat house, he terrorized her for months. Seeking revenge. It's just too much to go back on. I do think what makes it interesting that if you watch from the beginning you do see that Todd was in love Marty or as close as he gets to feeling love. She got under his skin, he couldn't get over her and he constantly tried to win her over and give him a chance. It does make it more complicated that just some guy who attacks a random woman. But again you just can't undo what was done and I think to put them together romantically would have been awful.

No, he was not. It is so sick how some people just don’t get it, and try to twist the interactions between Todd and his rape victim, into something it never was. I mean my God it was canon all the way to the end of OLTL on Prospect Park that Todd was in love with Blair. The character’s last words to his wife, whom he had just married for the fourth time (as Todd once said: “To my wife. Past, present, and future.”) were: “I love you, Blair Manning.”

Imagine if Todd was raised by a good dad how different things would be. 2 yrs b4 he was putting on the act of a dumb jock that was worshipped by all his little frat boy minions. When in actuality u could see early on he was very bright. When the frat boys were all arrested he was so smart about rights & criminal justice a clever poster said they wished they mentioned Todd majored in criminal justice cause he was always so fast thinking about his rights to stay silent as many suspects don't he knew about warrants & b4 the trial started was smart about image & strategy. Anyway the point is Todd under that surly wit & sarcasm really is a smart passionate guy that is very smart about people & behaviors. Speaking of behaviors I'll never forget when his therapist Ray ( miss him ) said to the govenors assistant 4 the pardon " Todd's a very smart young educated man who's problems are mostly behavioral " he got Todd so well. Todd wasn't born bad or a pychotic ( a lot of the pychotic things he did I believe were due to his 2 very serious head injuries & downing a whole bottle of lithium to escape prison. That's when he was at his moat frightening stalking Nora & trapping Marty at the tabernacle of joy going off on her wanting her to know how he suffered I guess too after he was forced to pleas guilty. Once suede ran it & fought him & suede accidentally died during the course of a fight for the first time we saw him make his first big change. He looked horrified when suede fell & was bleeding on the lower back if his head. He went from crazily taunting Marty to waking up from revenge mode & saying " he's fine ot was an accident Marty u saw that " then when the sirens came he whips around looking terrified. To me that's when Todd manning wss truly born going from this unrepentant rapist to a young guy that made a horrific decision that was now snow balling changing his life from country club football God brat to a much deeper complicated man who wasn't just this scary Frankenstein like monster. ) anyway having said all that rh & sh had such incredible chemistry. They alone & their saga or ride to hell gave oltl their last golden Era & brilliant writing the likes that wouod never be seen again. It's funny oltl was desperately searching in 93 for their next young male lead & didn't know they found him in 23 year old Roger until it was too late. They were also searching for their next supercouple particularly for the very talented Emmy nominee Susan haskell. Again they found it. The writers were constantly the next 4 years Susan was on to throw Todd & Marty together. Also w/o the rape Todd marty & Blair couod have been an explosive love triangle. I guess it's a catch 22 b/c would Todd been the lightning in a bottle character he became if not for the rape which was done so brilliantly. Their was zero filler in that story every scene every piece of dialouge was painstakingly worked hard on.

His good looks & charm & working people helped him survive on the run broke. That waitress in ny tried to bang him immediately & whsn she asmitted it to bo she came pn to him he said " todd has a way about him" lol i belive he loved cj & sarah but he was quick to come up w/ the genie story. So they got him food & cords clothes lol. He made friends fast w/ those bikers. The man was unstoppsble he escaped prison. He also is so smart he could have done anything in life w/o the $$ been.a cop a therapist a preacher a buisness man. When he got all that $$ instead of living off it & the intetest he started a successful newspaper as tina said years later " todd was a baby & ran a paper how hard can it be ?" Lol he was also a wonderful dad but sadly blair weilded his babies like weapons. She treated him like a sperm donor & tried to keep starr away from him then sobbed when he only defended himself & won custody. She kept starrs pregnancy a secret for 4 months & planned to never tell him until she got jealous of marty. Next day she seduced him in the stables. Finally tellimg him when she proposed. Then she came clean she was 4 months & was going to abort the baby. He wasnt mad & still re proposed. Then her pregnancy w/ jack was sick. He freed her from prison but decided todd had to pass some stupid test that he could love maxs baby as they both rubbed it in his face. They made todd stupid by not considering the baby was his. He slept w/ her unprotected & yet blair planned to marry max so hed legally be jacks dad when he called it off she ran to mexico over & over planning to never tell todd he had a baby coming. I never got why that was ok. She refused to spit it out in labor during child birth after the baby was born & into the next day she babbled on & on about thriwing a party i remember screaming at the tv just say it " its ur baby todd " ill never get why blair lied about todds babies 3x !

It's so weird seeing Marty having a secret w/ Todd & her looking to lie for her about her drinking. He dies so as well. Its just strange for these 2 & when u see the love interests she's had ironically Todd's clearly the best one based on pure chemistry. I know w/ the rape they couod never be which makes it such a waste.
