I wouldn't hold my breath.. They seem to have a nasty way of cramming supervillains out without proper introductions. If you ain't Main Antagonist, you may as well be an extra. Homecoming was a mess, purely for the fact that Vulture (Michael Keaton) carried that movie on the one half, while Ironman kept stealing the Spotlight from The Lead in The Other half.

My childhood buddy Dale was a gifted artist and he loved the way Todd drew comics. When we were kids he sent McFarlane a drawing of an Apache Helicopter he had done that was pretty good. It took about a year but Todd sighed it and mailed it back with the words, "keep up the good work Dale, Todd McFarlane." My friend was over the moon. I laughed how lame the astroid carrying the symbiote crashed like a lame thump and surprisingly in a city like New York, it wasn't a big deal. I honestly hoped that it would just crawl away preying on normal victims till it ran into Spider-Man and sensed his mighty power which would drive the symbiote desperate to latch on to Peter and when it was time, BAM black Spider-Man.

Yeah, but wouldn’t Sam Raimi as a professional want to put forth the very best product he could. It always struck me as Raimi kind of crossing his arms and pouting. “Sure you can have your stupid Venom! That's an interesting note on Venom's creation that I didn't know about. The reason he's so big is to give the impression that purely hand to hand, you simply cannot beat him. Therefore the hero in question has to find another way of defeating him, hence the weakness to sound and fire.

@@godzillazfriction if you read my comment I used the words "inflating and exaggerating", not "make him big!". I also didn't like how one-note McFarland seemed to be about the mass of the character. I merely didn't like how Venom was just exactly proportioned like regular ass Topher Grace, and wished they did remotely anything to make the character read more inhuman and alien. Even as a 10 year-old kid, my first reaction was "That's not the Venom I know". He has to be jacked, that's part of his intimidation factor, Parker is a scrawny kid and Venom a hulking alpha. True opposites of one another. It's a shame the movie was so rushed, there was/is huge potential there.

@Chris Like I said, true opposites of one another. Beta and Alpha. Batman and Bane are both alphas, both are supposed to be jacked. To give credit where it’s due, SM3 Venom was not Topher Grace’s normal build; they really bulked him up and made him considerably larger (definitely larger than Spider-Man). I personally prefer the symbiote effects in Spider Man 3. I agree that Venom should've been bigger, he's supposed to be a graceless character. But in regards to the symbiote itself, the one seen in Spider Man 3 feels a lot more tangible. It moves like an amorphous spider, like it holds mass. The one in Venom just looks like CG goop that sloshes around. Now, obviously I understand that the symbiotes in the comics and original animations are more liquid in nature, but I truly got the impression that Raimi's symbiote was an alien being.

If Don Heck was still alive (may he rest in peace), I wonder what he would've thought of how Iron Man 3 treated the villain he created to be Iron Man's greatest foe. Venom in Spider-Man 3 was simply a result of someone just not knowing what to do with the character, and Sam Raimi already apologized before the fans for botching him. Mandarin in Iron Man 3 was a result of someone intentionally pooping all over the fans, character, and his history.

@@jamiekelly6851, the Mandarin was described by Iron Man as his most deadliest enemy, and Thor called Mandarin one of the strongest villains he ever had to face. He's without a doubt one of Marvel's best villains. And he was always the main villain in most of the stories he was featured. The only time he was sidelined was in the Act's of Vengeance story. Which made him part of the team of Marvel's most famous supervillains. Give a character like the Mandarin to someone like Christopher Nolan, he'd make him one of the most iconic villains in the history of cinema. It's just that MCU doesn't do villains well, and especially villains that are as profound as the Mandarin.

It’s not the same as visually he still did look like the mandarin when he was in character in the film and at least we still hit a great bad guy in Ironman 3. They tricked everyone with the mandarin and it ended up being the extremis saga instead. Spider-Man 3 tried to make venom and just flat out failed in spectacular fashion. See what I did there ? Was amazing. Sensational even.
@antona.1327

@@ZaZa-kp9gt, 1. Kingsley's Mandarin did not look like the comic book Mandarin. Comic book Mandarin is 1.9 m tall, superbly athletic, has a dark long hair, earrings, and a triton-shaped beard. And he's also half-Chinese, half-white. Kingsley is an Indian who grew up in England. 2. Aldrich Killian was not a great bad guy. Sandman in Spider-Man 3 was a better villain than him, and he made more sense too. 3. That's why it sucked and was terrible. 4. The director admitted that the movie sucked. So your witty remarks mean nothing, because nobody's arguing that the movie did a good job with the character. But at least the director admitted it, unlike Shane Black, who keeps lying to himself that he did a good job with the character.

I defend the Raimi Venom as this: 1. Sam NEVER wanted Venom. Period. He though Carnage would be a scarier and more psychotic character (in 1&2 the villains were tortured people, so what would Spidy do against pure uncontrolled evil?) 2. Topher Grace could have worked if given more screen time 3. Sony demanded Venom at last minute, so screen time/character development was rushed. 4. The way Venom is portrayed is almost an anti-Spider-man. He’s more stealth and “I’m over here! Now I’m over here! Gotcha bitch!” Which given Raimi’s Evil Dead background, provides some creepy moments. Edit - I would like to say the Carnage stuff I might have accidentally made up through a false memory, either way it would have been cool to see Sam Raimi’s take on Carnage

Stan Lee was like your typical boss. I'll give an example. The second-gen Dodge Charger (1968 to 1970) was mainly designed by Richard Sias plus some co-workers, but Bill Brownlie took the credit in front of the press (even though Brownlie didn't like Sias and his Charger that much). If you understand Brownlie, you can easily understand Stan Lee. Ditko, Romita, Kirby did the main work, Stan Lee tagged along because he was their boss.

I haven't seen the Venom movie so I can't speak for that, but I never hated Topher Grace's Venom in Spider-Man 3. He did fine as Eddie Brock/Venom. That movie's biggest problem was that too much was happening and too many villains were jumping around. Venom simply wasn't needed in that movie, there was already enough going on with Sand-Man and Harry Osborn. That should've been enough and making Venom bigger wouldn't have improved the movie at all if everything else was left the same. The only ones to blame for Venom in SM3 is the Sony executives. Topher did a fine job, the writers did the best they could to include Venom in an already big enough story and Sam Raimi did his job to the best of his abilities. No amount of hulking up Venom would've made that movie better.
