Todd Starts Out The Day Mad and Does A Puffy Cat

Todd starts out our morning by telling me he is Mad about his Mousey. I don’t know why, he had not even asked for it yet. He Gets his Mousey and then says he is happy and wants to play Jingle Ball.
Todd is a 6-year-old neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 51 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”. you know, if Todd had thumbs... he would be able to just pick mousey up, and dispense the nuggets like a pez dispenser! lol He certainly wastes no energy or calories getting the food out, and he's purrrfected the roll direction needed for the most efficiency! I can't believe how much I love Todd when I have never, nor will ever get to even meet him! Geez on top of everything else he can do; the "stick handling" with jingle ball and the way he uses the bannister rods! There is only one Todd 🤩😇 🥰

Yes, it took him 5 minutes to figure out he didn't have to bat it around to get the food out of it. It serves its purpose to slow his earing down and get a little something in him so he doesn't gobble his food downstairs.

Yes and that is VERY rare for Todd. I've not seen that since he was a kitten. He started to do it again when I dropped my pocket knife while I was changing. He was having an off day.

I started the video wondering 'what could make a cat wake up on the wrong side of the bed?' My very next thought was 'Does he ever use his buttons in his dreams..." Maybe he was mad about stuff that was going on downstairs before he came up, and needed mousie for comfort.

He was shaking his head like there was something he smelled or had on him that was bothering him. so maybe the mousey was what he had planned on walking over to ask for but he got emotional and had to say that he was mad about whatever was making him shake his head

Your three kitties have an interesting relationship.,Glamour the don’t touch me cat, Paulie the outsider and Todd antagonist of Paulie and wannabe admirer of Glamour. Wonder what Happened between Paulie and Glamour. Do they often tangle? And how quick Todd was to defend Glamour, who was also not having a good day. Todd going from mad to happy was good to see, but as you said he was feeling stuffy. Does he need a stuffy button, I wonder? Stuffy is different than mad or ouch….

Glamour will try to bully and boss the other cats as much as she can. When Paulie has had enough he will chase her. Paulie is a sweet gentle boy and just wants to get along. Stuffy would be hard to model and Todd is stuffy everyday because of his condition, it is just a matter of how stuffy he is.

I have mixed feeling about it. Sometimes he likes to grab the ball and run down stairs. I worry about the line getting snagged and stopping and it hurting his teeth.

Happy button misfiring and possibly the mad button? If you watch Todd walk over (in slow speed) to touch the jingle ball button it appears he walks between the buttons but doesn't actually touch the happy button. Could you test this by pressing the pad between the feeling buttons and see if this is the case?

It was a backfoot button press. Todd uses His left front and back foot to press buttons.
