Not the only issue that will go unchecked. Snagging fish, hooked outside of mouth and so on during the spawn will be impossible to monitor.

Watched some catfishing and crappie fishing KZbin videos where folks had 4, 6, even 8 rods in rod holders. Do you know how many rods a person can fish with at the same time in Texas? I didn’t know and I was surprised when I looked it up. Guess you’re right about not knowing all the rules (laws).

I know its impossible to do it…. but when you have the format where they weigh the fish and release it like MLF you avoid the dead fish culling issue for the most part. But its just not feasible for smaller trails to have a guy to weigh the fish on every boat.

Has anyone ever told you that it's very difficult to follow along to your vlogs. It's like your brain just can't finish a thought and finish the sentence before you feel the need to mention something else and then jump right back to thr original message and then again before you finish a sentence you jump to another subject again to again not finish the thought. So we end up waiting sometimes 5-10 mins just to have you finish a thought or message and sometimes you never even finish the thought with a definant answer 🤦‍♂️ it's extremely tough to listen when you operate this way. I'd like to suggest you pick the subject. Say everything you want to say on it and then move onto the next subject so that people who don't have adhd can follow along 🤷‍♂️ I'm not trying to harp on you. Just trying to help you retain your viewer's for a longer period of time

Your example of knowing all the driving rules for each State made me chuckle cause it’s true. Just yesterday I was at the Florida DMV trying to register my truck for the first time being that I’m from Michigan and moved here. The lady looked up my vehicle gross weight and asked me if I needed to increase it which had me scratching my head because it’s never been asked in Michigan. She explained if you register your vehicle at a specific weight and you and say 3 friends are riding with you hauling a load of wood and a cop pulls you over he can make you go weigh the truck right then and there and if you are over the weight you registered you can be ticketed and fined. I laughed and said that sounds like a money grab by the DMV and any cop that pulls you over just to see if you are over your registered weight.

Fished a tournament few years ago and director told us no culling of dead fish. But you could give the dead fish away to someone not fishing the tournament and it wouldn’t count against the limit. Thoughts anyone?

Those specific location rules that aren't part of the tournament rules should be made known by the TD in pre-tournament meetings and/or text or emails, you reply to or sign off on.

And the other issue is if you don’t have two people in the boat, you can only have five bass but if you have that other person, you can keep a six bass unless your tournament rules say you can only have five bass. So when you catch five, you would have to gamble do I give the dead fish away and in hopes to catch another one or take the dead fish penalty.

Comes down to the fact that nothing is perfect . Can’t release a dead fish . But you can release one that’s probably going to die . You have to draw the line somewhere .

I caught a small bass a couple years ago and after I released it I could tell it wasn't going to survive. Couldn't keep the fish since it wouldn't meet length regulation so I let it go, the turtles/racoons or wildlife would complete the nature cycle.

Here’s a question. Can you throw back a dead fish if you don’t have a 6th fish in hand? Example. You check your Livewells. You have one dead bass. You should be able throw it back? You’re not culling it. You’re throwing it back. It’s not technically a cull. You may catch #5 again or you may not. Not trying to find a grey area. Just a genuine question.

Where I fish in the Northeast, all of the trail tourneys allow culling of a dead fish. There is a penalty if you bring a dead fish to the scales, and of course a dead fish cannot be entered as a lunker.

I fish in northeast PA ! I know in our club tournaments! Your not supposed to cull a dead fish < usually they go by most of the fish commission rules ! I'll have too look !

I know for a fact the tournaments try to hide dead fish. Personally know a guy who won co angler big bass in a phoenix mlf tournament. With a dead fish and he told them it was dead. I couldn't believe it. He still would have won big bass but with the penalty he would have placed where he did got money he shouldn't have.

Minnesota. There’s so Many limits on different body’s of water. Laws on baits. Hooks size limits Mille Lacs lake walleyes slots were killing more fish maybe than just reducing over all limits. Because gut hooked fish. That’s not legal to keep. Got thrown back dead. Just stupid. Sometimes game wardens don’t know nothing. There’s been times been checked duck hunting. Where they couldn’t decipher a Gadwall. Too a Hen Mallards. And there’s well over 10,000 Lakes here. How can you keep track of it all 🤷‍♂️

Frankly, when it comes to tournament Fishing, unless the rules say you cannot give a fish away and you don’t have a rule that says only five fish in the boat, then I believe this should happen in all tournaments. Can you enforce it no. But at the end of the day, I have to weigh in five fish And if I’m able to cull in that game where to get processed by somebody who would eat it then it’s ethical in a tournament. Shouldn’t worry about that. But you know that most people illegally cull all the time.

How many guys put a fish in their livewell that they say touches the line? Hoping to cull it. Last year at ky lake I had a smallmouth that weighed more than a large mouth I had but it barely bumped. Team tournament so legally we are allowed 10 bass in the boat. I kept both. We were allowed a "courtesy bump" before weigh in and it went. My board a golden rule and the courtesy a golden rule. When it got to the tank they had an ozark trail board and that guy said short. TD let me get my other fish that was well over but weighed less. Now the whole club thinks I'm a cheater and in the wrong, besides the TD. My team won and would have won with either fish?!? People are petty. Their gripe was shouldn't have had 6 fish in the livewell...no law or rule against it with 2 guys fishing in the boat

The only way to keep an eye on the Open Anglers is their fish don’t count that aren’t caught on their GoPro. It’s on the angler to make sure their cameras are in working order. Bring a couple if they have to. When a keeper is caught. Show it to the camera state the weight. Announce a cull. Etc… It’s the only way to be legit without a marshal or co.
