This is a great little radio! Wish I had caught it on sale for 80 bucks, but oh well. I agree with you on the page system...I find it very easy to use, and I can find stations quickly. Build quality is good, too.

Hej Todderbert, thanks for the AM band scan. I have the Shiuadon D-808, the micro-USB version, but it has a nice amber-colored backlight display. We'll see if I also buy the Shiuadon D-808 with a USB-C jack. The new, upgraded Shiuadon R-108 with USB-C is on its way, so that will be nice. I love my old original Radiowow R-108, and it still works great. But it will be very interesting to compare my old Radiowow R-108 and the new Shiuadon R-108. And yes, I also have the QODOSEN DX-286, and it's a lovely radio. Take care, Todderbert, and have a nice saturday.

They make this in a Grey Model. Otherwise you will spend more for a GunMetal colored Eton Elite Executive, or Silver/Grey for the CC Skywave SSB. Those two radios run on AAs.

Changed the preset for 880. Listened to WCBS news radio for decades. Only one news radio now, 1010 WINS which is further north and less strong though they do simulcast on FM. Lots of sports stations. 27:14

Great review and radio..Just a troubleshooting note...with a d 109wb xhdata radio if it won't turn on just take the battery out for an hour.Mine has done this about 3 times and this will solve it.The memory is still saved.I know it's a different radio than this but just in case it's a company..Love all of your reviews. TY

That Cuban station on 530 KHz, Radio Enciclopedia, has only 10 kw. The station in Toronto, CHLO 530 has only 250 watts at night. Both are receivable here in Washington DC on my DT-400W. Enciclopedia has jazz, classical, easy listening and other instrumental music, which I enjoy.

The power of 530 from Cuba is only 25 kW. Low frequency MW’ers can go extremely far because of their long wavelength itself. A great example of this is when I would travel to Reelfoot lake in Tennessee I could still hear my local 550 from St. Louis in the daytime. It’s a low powered station but has great coverage. A “ham” told me once that that’s a combination of the actual wavelength vs. the height of the actual antenna above the ground. Cuba is rethinking radio because of all the damage to their traditional radio stations because of the past hurricanes recently. I have been listening and finding that most of their shortwave network is completely offline.
