A great revisit video. I purchased my Sangean PR-D18 after watching your review 3 years ago. It’s actually one of my favorite radios. The rubber bumper not only protects the radio but makes it comfortable to hold. I wish more radio manufactures added one to their radios.

Just got one of these D18s and it is very nice indeed. Way better than the V115 I have been using. Excellent reception including a station that has been tough to get with the V115. Planning to make a tuned loop antenna for some DXing and use in the basement. Wish it had NOAA, display lit and with frequency rather than clock. Arrangement of the buttons is a bit odd but I'll get used to them. Way better build quality than Chinese radios I have used/seen.

Which radio gave you 90 fm stations? I have this, this is a great radio. Durable with great reception. Goes to 1710 in 9k. Easiest sleep/alarm timer ever and it's volume is perfectly adjustable when you want it just enough to hear but not disturb anyone else at a camp site for example

The Eton Field BT gave me 90+ . The Sangean PR-D15 may have come close to that number as well. I took apart this D18 and was surprised by the quality components inside, along with a nice four inch ferrite antenna.

@@todderbert You mentioned the Sangean PR-D9W brought in 90 stations as well! Which begs the questions, for FM performance, PR-D19 or PR-D9W? I'm trying to FM DX a station a little over 100 miles away that fades in and out on my PR-D4W. I thought about the Eton, but if either of the Sangeans might do the trick, I would go that route as they are more compact. Thanks!!!!

@@terrywho22 I would try the PR-D19 and see. Every location may yield different results on a 100 mile station. The only time I pick those up on any of my radios is during a tropo. event.

When I try to set the stations, it bounces to some other station when I push the button to set it. It's frustrating, and I can't find a Reset on it, and now I might have to chuck the radio. Any suggestions?

You could try to remove the rubber bumper and see if there is any dirt building up near/under the buttons. Call Sangean if it persists.

Horrible radio for rechargeable batteries. At least mine, maybe I got a dud. Specifically, this radio doesn't take long before it dies and you need to pop the battery cover to see which single battery is weak enough to cause the shut-off. Even if 3 out 4 batteries test good with one weak battery, your quickly down to one bar on the battery indicator or into the "E" for error (won't play) territory.

I have not noticed this with mine. Maybe get in touch with Sangean and find out if they will fix it under warranty.
