I like how that logo at the right of the tuning window assures us that we have bought a "Radio." 😅

Good job todderbert of finding another interesting radio in the BJL- 668.

I just got mine yesterday and it is quite a good radio for under $20 from Amazon. Very impressive performance, however there was some bleed over on shortwave during the day, but for this price point, no real surprise. I fell asleep listening to Zoomer CZFM from Toronto on mine and always like 18650 radios for that as those batteries hold their own quite well.

Now this looks like a good one for the deck or camping.

I think the pointer is cool and done well moving along the bottom instead of the top. Yellow goes well with the turquoise blue. Nice clear numbers. If there is no binding of the tuning that is unusually amazing.

I'm not a fan of Ali, though they have cheap deals for sure :)

@@todderbertIt’s a matter of what you get. If a $10 radio gets lost, I won’t be too upset about it (any more, anyway). Got an HanRongDa HRD-903 off of there delivered yesterday. Happy it’s 9/10 switchable. I can never expect 10 from there, even if it says 520-1710

Хороший обзор на новое радио, но желательно добавить обзор внутренностей, для лучшего понимания как оно сделано и на каких микросхемах.

Interesting. Nice to see that someone is making radios that are more selective now. *C.Crane sells 18650 batteries [ protected] 3400 mAh. And they are not very expensive at all. 📻🙂👍

I wish these radios allowed the extra space for protected 18650s, but they all seem to keep it so you have to use an unprotected button top.

Great review as always. One quick question, and apologies if you answered it, but do you know if it uses 9kHz or 10kHz steps on MW?
@todderbert5 ай бұрын
10kHz, as purchased from Amazon USA.
5 ай бұрын
Those manual Tuning radios could Imho all set to 1 kHz so they would work in either region
@radellaf5 ай бұрын
@I know…. or some of the chips have a hybrid mode with 9&10 steps at the same time. I even have a digital one like that (it messes up the ATS horribly). But, yeah, the analog ones should AFC and just lock on to the strongest signal (with 1k or smaller resolution).

Cheap, Retro, and Fun. One of my favorites.

I just received mine and had to remove the motherboard in order to tighten the volume knob that had fallen loose. The design is simple enough for such maintenance, and I guess tightened screws aren’t a part of this price point build. Still, it’s an affordable little radio that works.
@radellaf5 ай бұрын
One is compelled to ask how it performs compared to the 2 D cell powered $35 Panasonic RF-562D, which has pretty good build quality. SW coverage is only 5-18 on one band with the Panasonic.
@todderbert5 ай бұрын
Not sure, but this little DSP does well. Needs the easy touch when tuning in between strong stations, but other than that, it's fun. If this ever goes below $13 I'm going to be picking up a few extra.
@radellaf5 ай бұрын
@@todderbertI picked one up for $18. Zoinks! It’s like half the size of the Panasonic. Despite my having a CC Pocket and two Iron Man decks, that came as a surprise. Makes the tuning knob really cramped vs the panasonic.
@ejc19563 ай бұрын
Good radio,the tuning indicator on the display is off quite a bit from the actual frequency but the radio is surprisingly sensitive. Probably worth no more than the present price point.
