I have the Siemens version of this and it's a great little quality radio. This one is actually made by Sangean, and the later ones are made by Eton or Tecsun. The giveaway that it is made by Sangean is the propriety HWS which is a Sangean invention 👍 Tam.

I was thinking the same thing when I read up on the HWS.

I recently purchased a used one at a thrift store cheaply. I agree with everything you stated. The sound is great for a mono shortwave too! Instructions are online for free. Just a fun and reliable little historical analog radio toy. :)

I was looking for portable radio to take on a remote fishing trip. I listened to your review on the Grundig Traveler II and found one on Craigslist for $19. I bought it and it is everything you said it was. Now I’m looking for the AC adaptor. Thanks for the great review.

Awesome! It is a simple radio that does what you need. I love the world clock it provides as well.

This was one of the first radios I ever got off of ebay. It was second hand. The speaker was fried, reception wasn't too great. I gave it away. This video makes me want to try another one. They're still out there.

Bought one of these after watching Two Hands test it and recommend it. Love it! I too have been thinking about buying another one. Good review-- on the down side I noticed the band selector switch was dirty- not up to todderbert cleaning standards! LOL

I noticed that this morning...ugh. I did clean the front switch...if that means anything...I get so excited on just wanting to use the radio :) oh I'm thinking of reviewing radios that I found for $2 and under, and film them as found. Could get pretty crazy...dirt wise that is.

I bought several of these when Eddie Bauer was featuring them. Using that input I could power it with a tiny solar panel.

I already seemed to know that radio. Tam has a similar, but Siemens brand. Nice video as usual Pete!

You're right. The dot is a better signal indicator than the TUNING bar.

Hello! Im having issues with mine. Clock functional, everythint seems to be fine with it but when i turn it on (second notch) the "tuning" keeps flashing but there is no sound at all. The volume is up, anntena up, but its not even picking up the static noise. Any idea how I can fix it?

You should put a empty beer 🍺 can next a radio 📻 to compare size! 😂😂

It does not have any Japanese FM tuning function. Unlike Traveller III have both Russian OIRT , Japanese FM and EU/USA/CCIR FM frequencies.
