I love the way Bob Barker always made his interaction with the contestants the main event…the games and prizes were secondary. He brought out the best in people. I’ll always be grateful to him for indirectly helping my autistic son learn to speak clearly by modelling precise diction and expressive voice inflections in the audio version of his autobiography, “Priceless Memories”. His goodness was contagious.

He worked two days a week. These shows are all shot over one or two days. Good luck to him; got nothing against him. Young people work harder for less money and worse benefits yet people can't help believing this persistent myth that the youth are lazy and at some vague time in the past everyone was totally upstanding and perfectly wonderful. The data and actual history show otherwise. Millenials work harder for less money, are less likely to use drugs, are less violent and even less promiscuous than previous generations, and baby boomers rate _the absolute worsst_ on all these measurements.
@TryNSave
@TryNSave Жыл бұрын
@@aarondavis8943Lol. Millennials aren’t saints, bro, and the idea that they’re less promiscuous vs. previous generations is laughable. Fewer of them are in committed relationships; that is the distinction. Earning potential is strained in contemporary times, but this is true for multiple generations across the board. You’re wrong on basically all points.

A few days before my sister was going to graduate from her Catholic girls school, Sister Superior called her into the office. My sister disliked school and never took it seriously. Sister Superior said there was a rumor that when her name was called to receive the diploma, she was going to yell, "Come on down!" My sister wasn't planning to do that and didn't know how the rumor started, but it gave her ideas. However, she decided it was in her best interest not to do it. If Sister Superior didn't kill her on stage, she know our parents would.

I was born in 1969 and one of those many 70’s kids whose favourite thing about being sick, was getting to stay home from school and watch TPIR. Thanks Dr. Grande for an excellent and compassionate analysis of this true gentlemen. He reminds one of their favourite grandfather or uncle and when Joe Biden won the last election I jokingly said on Facebook that after 4 years of looking at such an unattractive president, I was quite smitten with Mr. Biden because he was very handsome in a Bob Barker kind of way. Of course some took that quite literally and missed my point completely. Bob lived his best life. I’ve been thinking about him more often since Covid and wondering when we will might hear this sad news, especially after the loss of Betty White and Prince Phillip as they are all so close in age. I did not know that most of his estate was being left to non profits for animal rescue supports. Although that’s not surprising. He’s the kind of person one wishes they could’ve met. Thanks again Dr. G! 👍🏽❤️

I actually got on “Truth Or Consequences” when I was nineteen. I turned my consequence into “Barker’s Bluff.” I had to write “Bride of Frankenstein” with my nose on a pane of glass governed in a white powdery substance. Two other teams had to write BoF. The team that was able to read it first won a prize. My teammate shouted it out first,while the other teams were struggling to write it! Noses are not very good writing instruments. When asked , my teammate couldn’t explain why my nose writing was so easy to read. I looked at Barker and pointed to the glass. “I wrote it backwards so it would be readable on the other side!” I explained. Barker cracked up and turned red with laughter! My prize? Fifty bucks and a hairdryer.
