Xue Yang, the person who tricked a blind Xiao Xingchen into killing Song Lan, brought him back as a fierce corpse under his control. So poor Song Lan spent years as a puppet to the person who massacred his temple and destroyed Xiao Xingchen. And he was conscious of all of it.

Their story is such a tragedy. Icried my eyes out when he killed himself. And the responsible for it, was first in denial, later cried and demanded him to come back to life. Then tried to force another person to bring him back to life. That's a narcissistic partner right there. If you have one in your life, run and never look back, no matter how pittiful thei ct, is an act.

Yesssss let's go, the whole Yi city arc is just amazing, i cry every time lol, and couldn't they choose a villain that is not so hot and charming? What am i supposed to do? Not fall in love? Impossible!

This was a wonderful relationship, although the time line differed greatly from the novel. The story unfolds after Wei ‘dies’ in the novel. However, the change in the series was compelling. It was heartwarming to see Wei have contact with his Mother’s family. And that is a gorgeous and fitting song. Thanks for sharing this and offering comments.

Can anyone tell me why song lan and xiao xingchen originally had a falling out? I never understood that part. I’ll get to it in the books eventually but based on the show I’ve been confused about that

If I am not wrong, they both were supposed to agree to not middle in the world's affairs and some trouble happened and Xxc meddle in and some people taking revenge on him murdered whole Song clan and blinded him. In a fit of anger Song Lan solded Xxc for causing everything. Xxc later on gave him his eyes and run away out of guilt and doesn't want Song Lan to know that he sacrificed his own eyes.
