If yall watched season 3 onwards including the Manga this is clearly not the case. Deku outshines them almost every time after season 2. The only reason they kept out shinning him in the early seasons was because deku didn't know how to use full cowling. After deluxe learnt it he continuously keeps out shinning them. Even currently in the Manga deku became so powerful that the entire class 1A couldn't beat him in a fight so they had to use talknojutsu on him to calm him down. Even todoroki tried to freeze him and he just broke out of that shit like it was nothing.

Trauma isn't an easy thing to get over. During his fight with Deku Shoto temporary forgot about it, but only for a moment. He has intentionally neglected the fire half of his quirk and can't utilize it effectively at the moment. In part because of his trauma but also in part because he doesn't really know what he is doing. He has a lot of work to do in order to be able to use it effectively in battle. He largely got lucky in his fight with Deku, though his mastery of his ice saved him. Shoto is the youngest of four siblings. In a flash back we saw he had three siblings who appear to be older than him. Endeavor seems to of stopped having kids after he got a combo he liked. Also his wife had a psychotic break around that time so that put an end to any chance of them having more kids. Shoto's mom is better than when she poured boiling water on his face, but she doesn't seem fully whole yet. It seems more she has to get herself out of the hospital than Shoto has to get her out. Although he can help with that. Again, trauma isn't easy to get over.

I honestly believe that even if todoroki used his fire bakugou still would have won. Bakugou's move at the end was made to directly counter todoroki's flames. By using his spinning momentum to create a vortex to suck out the air basically to make his flames useless. But who knows todoroki still may have won that's just my opinion.

Yeah bakugou more than likely would've won anyway. Even without the vortex sucking up the air the howitzer had enough force to blow back his fire anyway. Todoroki would've been better trying to just catch him in his ice.

Exactly. Plus Bakugos attack was an explosive attack. If todoroki shot fire at it two things could've happened, either his fire gets blow away because of the explosion or his fire would've just amplified the explosion putting him at a further disadvantage.

Actually, that Vortex wasn't for sucking anything. Shoto's fire still would've hit him and burned him to begin with. Plus even if it did suck the fire, the fire would still hurt him from the inside and if Shoto was motivated, could have caught him with his ice too.

Bakugo is smarter than Deku in class and out on the field but people always forgets that. Also, if Todoroki used his fire, Bakugo would get hotter making his quirk stronger. Not matter what Bakugo would have won that fight.

@@kzlbrendon9814 the more he SWEATS, the stronger he gets; not the hotter he gets, the stronger he is. Meaning sweating from physical activity like maneuvering around. Fire doesn't make you sweat, it burns you, especially up close to it. I know he is smarter than Deku and Todoroki, but his plan was to take Todo's flames head on and win off of it? Shoto is more versatile and smarter than people think and he would have used Bakugo maneuvering in the air to his advantage.

Bakugo would rather lose to an opponent who gave him a good fight than win to an opponent who, in his eyes, sees him as inferior or weak. Bakugo's greatest enemy is himself and his vision of how to be weak is something that displeases him, every time something exposes him to see his weak side he breaks, gets angry and gets scared so yeah, there we see the reason for his anger, because inadvertently, Shoto made him look weak by not wanting to use his flames on him. *by the way something I love about this arc is that Bakugo did everything All Might told Deku to do, show everyone that "he was there"*

Yeah Rei (Shoto's mom) is very sane. She instantly snapped back to reality and regretted what she did after burning Shoto, it was just momentary bad moment brought on from years of abuse and why she willingly went to the hospital. Shoto never visted because he thought he would hurt her more by seeing his face, and she thought he hated him after what she did so she never asked him to visit.

Both their quirks are incredibly powerful, but Todo's looks cooler- but regardless of how 'flashy' their quirks are, Combat ability is what matters most in a 1v1 duel like this. and Kachan is way more versatile with his quirk *and* surpasses todoroki in hand to hand.

not really. Horikoshi himself said that his initial idea was for Shoto to overcome his trauma and thus win the championship, so this obviously shows that at least at that time he was superior to Bakugou. However, as he thought he couldn't get over a trauma so quickly, he did it that way.

That depends, I agree for the name Sasuke, but for Katsuki there is definitely a subtle inflection on the "u". by no means is it apparent as "oo" but more like a quick, muted, shortened "uh" sound.

shoto and Kachan are important, they do sometimes steal the story away from Deku. it usually ends up being funny somehow lol. dont mind me using their first names or nicknames... I know in japan unless your close friends, family, or in a long-term relationship it's more common to use last names, I'm just one of the unfortunate souls who can't spell most Japanese names or words to save my life, and both their last names just make me exhausted when typing lol.

FYI: the movie joker uses a veneer of mental trauma as an excuse to be a shitty person. It villianizes people with mental health problems and trauma, when the majority of people with trauma will hurt themselves long before they hurt anyone else. Todoroki’s mom had a moment where in blind panic she throws the nearest thing at what her brain processes as her abuser. The second she realizes what happened she tries to heal him and do anything she can to fix what happened. (This isn’t meant to criticize or hate, but simply to try and help inform and educate! Love y’all 😊; if I’ve gotten anything wrong please feel free to let me know!)

I fell hard and now I don't mind him and really enjoy his lines from the earlier seasons when I rewatched the show. Annnd that's why this is such a unique tournament outcome: the mc lost, but the "powerhouse" beat him only because he inspired him enough to go full throttle. So the rival wins, BUT the powerhouse holds back, so the Rival will always feel he could have lost like the MC if things had been different. I feel IF they manage to do ANOTHER tournament; say in the epilogue, I think Bakugou should lose first round... and be ok with it.... just to show how much he's grown and that he understands victory is only a small part of being a hero

I don't think Todoroki would've won using his fire, Bakugou's pretty resistant to heat and Todoroki doesn't know how to control his flames + Bakugou's last move was meant to counter his fire anyways. Todoroki is strong but he can't win against Bakugou if he's not even paying attention to him like Bakugou did.

Even if he used both of his quirks, I still don't think Todoroki would've won because he doesn't have full control of his quirks and hasn't used his fire quirk for a long time. He's also not focused at this point of time. Bakugo is very smart and has great control of his quirk. Regardless, they're both super strong :)
