The shadow Shanks was talking to was just Rockstar, but drawn from kind of a weird perspective. In the manga, Shanks addresses him by name in this scene, but for some reason Toei didn't drop his name (even though the only other time we saw Rockstar was in episode 151 lol)

Really? I just don’t think thats the case . Looking at the coloring and the fact that shanks says “old friends that he was talking to.” There’s no way they hold that long on that frame and it’s supposed to be rock star. Rockstar is the one who gave the news kid was coming he wasn’t sitting down next to him. Idk if that’s the actual case then there was some weird direction mishaps with this scene
