In the original ToeJam & Earl, to check for a ship piece on a level, open the map and press the A button to see your ship piece inventory. There will be a message letting you know if a ship piece is on the level.

*10:50* Jim tells the story of how he got zapped by the Mad Doc and it messed up his controls (actually, that's the *Cupid* throwing arrows who does that, the Doctor zaps your health), so he couldn't control his character right, *but in reality,* it was Michael who used the "Swap Bodies" present just as the Mad Doc was about to get Jim (but didn't!) - and at that moment it was *Michael* controlling Jim's swapped character, which confused Jimmy in the process, meanwhile his swapped character drowned in the water (bottom screen) because Jim thought he was still controlling the Top screen, and when his button input didn't respond with the actions on-screen (because it was Michael who'd already been steering ToeJam after the "Swap"), he thought the Mad Doc *got* him, resulting in messing up his directional controls... *LOL Cool Story LMAO!*

I love panic on funkotron. Yes there are other platformers but the style of play was unique. Catching all of the humans in jars before leaving the levels made exploring a thing, which isn't prevalent in most side scrollers. Using buttons to open secret doors and get presents, mini games within levels, a better use of environment by making the planets look more alien. Its a great game with more good things about it than I care to list right now.

Glad to know there are people out there that like the second T&J. Most people hate it just because it's different from the original and it's a platformer. It's one of the most unique platformers ever made and maintains the same funky style of the original.

22:08 Dunno if James or Mike read comments, but those hood ornaments are made to pivot and rotate. So maybe when the guy sat on it, he knew it would bend out of the way. They bend and pivot to prevent pedestrians from getting impaled in a car accident.

The randomizer presents actually do have practical uses, when you stop to consider them. We know there are both positive and negative presents, and eventually you will run into a situation where you have an overabundance of negative ones, simply due to the fact that you need positive ones to proceed in the game. This is when you want to use your randomizer to reset all the bad presents with the randomizer and get a chance to make them into positive ones instead. It also doesn't randomize anything except what you're carrying, so by dropping positive presents, you're essentially just rerolling negative ones.

ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove was delayed five times, but I can definitely say it was well worth the wait, as it feels like a true sequel to the original game on the Genesis. Heck, my profile icon for the month of March 2019 was ToeJam and Earl from the cover art of the original 1991 game.

Beyond oasis looks so good. I've only played it a bit, it's on the mega drive collection on pc and and switch etc, back in the day as a kid with a mega drive I'd never heard of it, but I can't believe such a good looking game could play on a stock regular mega drive

@@SwissDewd It's a blast (from the past) in Single-Player mode too! - only a bit more challenging, because 2 players can discover more items and cover more ground (get moreXP) *quicker,* and they can share the use of an item when on-screen TOGETHER, allowing you to save more items that way.

You would've beat it if you weren't walking passed the Wiseman (carrot guy) all the time in the earlier levels. When your xp meter is full he levels you up and boosts your stats like increasing your health bar, walking speed, ect..

The worst on the original game was if the elevator was on its own island and you had no power-ups left anywhere to make a big jump. You basically lost because the game just locked you out from progress.

Yes, like you mentioned in the video, seeing the level below you during gameplay is a very nice effect. Also the drifting clouds in space. Unfortunately only the PC version has those effects. All the console versions for some unknown reason, do not. I originally bought this game for my Switch, but once I saw how cool the Steam version looked, I had to get it. PC is definitely the definitive version.
