@semicharmedlife311 when we play the better teams we will need a technically better CF. We will need to go long to relieve the pressure and need a CF to win and hold up the ball. Maybe Chermiti can do that, I don't know but we now know that if we are controlling a game and can put the ball in front of Beto to run onto he can score goals in this league...

What I think we love most about Beto, and a lot of us have felt this for a while, is that he's a fighter. Physically and mentally. You can tell that internally he's viciously competitive. He plays with his ego on his sleeve, in the best way. He "takes it personally", to use a cliche. I love Dom, but his mentality seemed like he was always trying to quiet the loud negative voices in his head. Fearful as opposed to aggressive. Reactive, not proactive. I don't blame him for that, with all the injuries derailing him, but its really noticeable when you watch someone different like Beto. Edit: That being said, lets pump the brakes on some comments in here implying Beto is a better finisher or at all more skillful than Dom. That is letting your recent affection of Beto run wild. Beto regularly makes, and will forever continue to make, some ugly technical blunders that you'd rarely see from Dominic "if he's fit" Calvert-Lewin. He will never be as good as Dom was for that brief period. But he could easily have a career that is on par with Dom, and more importantly, he can score a lot of goals for us.

I think the guy on MoTD got it right when he said Beto kept his cool to take his chances rather than panic in front of goal as he has done in the past. Hopefully the goals today will give him confidence. He’s a fantastic guy. Gives absolutely everything every game, really loves playing for us. It was great seeing him get a couple of goals. Everyone around me was just delighted for him.

During Moyes first spell at Goodison the club often went through horrific injury crises. One of this manager's stand out qualities has always been his ability to motivate and inspire fringe players and turn them into assets, whilst setting the team up to remain effective at both ends of the pitch. Felt really confident that Moyes was exactly the right man for the job. Well done Toffees, the best I've felt about things for a very long time

Hope someone with a spine in the media will pull up the likes of Paul Merson etc for uneducated lazy comments such as Moyes & Dycheasaurus are the same manager when in 4 games he's won the same as Dyche managed in 19 !!! He's barely had any time to work with the players so it's proven how poorly coached they've been they were being made to play league one football because that's the highest level he played at. All Moyes has done is remind the players how good they can be & got us playing on the front foot
@johnryan8201
@johnryan8201 6 күн бұрын
If we are going to get anyone in this transfer window then it should be a player that we want for the long term and who really want to play for us. The way the lads are playing now has us up to 15th, 10 points above the relegation zone , nearer point-wise to the top 10 than the bottom three. Between now and the summer we begin to look at who we really want and go for them. Beto scored two in one PL match. Ndiaye is beginning to build up his season tally, Lindstrom came close and was absolutely frustrated when it was blocked. There is a willingness to fight for the win, there is a confidence in themselves and in each other, and I think Moyes has opened that up for them and he has given them the freedom to actually go out and play football!

Beto offers something in a team that plays this way, Moyes is great at playing to certain players strengths and with Garner feeding those balls in for him to run on to and us getting the ball into the box more he could be the player we thought we were getting, Dyche had written him off in the same way he wrote Jake O'Brien off and Jake has also been really good, even better when you consider he's playing in an unfamiliar position. Beto doesn't need to be technically good to get goals, He has the same kind of profile as Haaland, obviously not as prolific but Haaland has said his perfect game would be to have 3 touches of the ball all game and score 3 goals.

Love Moysey glad he's back shame he wasn't back sooner after all the wasted money spent imagine what Moyes would have done. So happy for Beto, always saw he had great movement and just needs to be fed the ball no doubt frustrating under Dyche hardly any game time. I hope he gets a good run now he deserves it he has love for our club

15 games to go, so another 4 wins and a couple of draws would absolutely guarantee we have nothing to be worried about now. Moyes has a roughly 40% win ratio across his career, which would mean about 7 wins between now and the end of the season. More than comfortable. :) On his stats, we should not be liking Beto, but somehow you just can't help it. We all want him to do well, and with decent service and a run of games, I think he'll prove doubters wrong.

Moyes has given the players permission to play football and their confidence has come from being allowed to do the job they have trained for and are paid for

Ken and flash so accurate…… so much stick aimed at Beto……but he puts the ball way, used to get 10 or 15 minutes and that was it but even then he was scoring more goals than DCL! How long was it? 3 months without scoring and Beto not getting a look in, I always had faith in Beto and under Moyes he has come good ……made up …..proves what we always said…..these are not bad players…..great defence now especially O’Brien is at last getting picked, Gana so hard working and even Lindstrom had that talent….sorry, Sean but Moyes is just a better Manager ….as for Garner..out of this world today ……..coming back after severe injury for his 1st full game ….we have hope? Early days but looking good as we now have the foundations to go on and avoid relegation…..😊

He is giving them freedom to move the ball through the lines and to make runs, knowing that an actual ball might be played forward.

Agreed, I wouldn't be looking for a striker.Beto is a 20 goal a season striker! In the summer let Dom go and bring someone then.We need someone to replace Doucoure as soon as possible.Feel a bit bad saying that, but the fact is he is technically awful and gives away possession far too much.A number 10 now and a striker and left back in the summer- keeping Myko as backup.
