Finally a game that does justice for the undead. Never have I seen such an interesting story. Undead rising to build, to revive what was a once prosper kingdom to humanity, to defend the progress.

It's very captivating. Steam reviewers don't do it justice and there's a bunch of naysayers herping and derping how everything is simplistic and cliché, how we're overreacting. Game's fantastic, made by people who understand tactic and are clearly talented. I'm especially glad that it prevents building armies of 1241564217 units. Genius design imo. I'm so glad that we get to hear the full Oath recited at the end 🔥🙏💀

My blood and bone, my essence now forever I pledge to thee in peace time and in war. Aurelia the great, in your endeavors I swear my oath to serve forevermore. Aurelia, Aurelia eternal, I lay my worth to measure on your scale. You hold the sword, protective and maternal. May those, who stand against you, ever fail. If i am called, my oath will soon deliver My body, soul and spirit to your side. For Arleon, Aurelia eternal, I swear this oath, so I will never die.

part of me wonders who will be the primary charachter in the baryan story and how will we see them deal with the rise of the rana and the return of the dragon WHICH IS THEIR FAULT BTW. on a more related note i do wonder if we will get more info on the deal between aurelia and the fey, they say aurelia was twisted in death but as i belive the real reason is that the fey objected to the necromantic oath and imprisoned her to hinder its use. the death of the king was caused by their betrayl but they use it to justify her imrisonment. so when it comes to the fey and the rana i am definetly pro extermination.

It depends at what time period the campaing will take place. Personally at this point I think Barya will be an underdog fighting for it's survival. After playing the third campaign they are the worst faction when it comes to morality in my opinion. (Before playing the third campaign I thought it was Loth). In many aspects their cause is just wrong. Even more than Loth. If I remember correctly they've attacked Arleon that was weakened by the Loth. They've made an excuse just to invade Barony of Loth. They enslaved Rana and nearly wiped them out. (That later led to the awakening of Dragons.) They do everything what their contracts tell them to do. It seems like everything they do is only for busines most of the time.Situation looks like Arleon just wants to defend itself. Loth wants to make things great again and bring back the old empire (btw. everything changed and it doesn't make sense that much) and Barya wanted profits before they were kicked so hard by nearly everybody. And Rana wants revenge on everyone. I don't blame them. They are right to think this way especially when it comes to Barya. At this moment they are full of rage and rapidly expanding their swamp. It is possible that Rana will destroy everyone because they have the most powerful creatures in their armies and nothing even come close to the eternal dragons in terms of strength and speed. Full army of Eternal Dragons can wipe out nearly everything. We already saw the power of the normal dragons in Rana campaign. The other possible outcome of the story may be the final battle between Cecilia and Aurelia. And I think this is most likely to happen. And I think Arleon will be the victorious faction at the end. Fey are part of Arleon in the current time. It means that if Loth wants to get rid of them it needs to defeat Arleon and it's armies. Loth did attack the Arleon. And as we know they already failed to do that becuse Wiesh who was the most powerful wielder of Aurelia got crushed in the final battle of Arleon campaing by Cecilia of Stoutheart. Beside the Barya story there is going to be a fifth faction propably as some of Lava Potion members stated in the community center at steam. That's great news. (I still want a lot more factions than just 4 or 5). But we will see what we get. Also for what the new faction stands for how it behaves towards others. It may have a big influence on the story.

@@mcc5566 you got it a bit wrong about the enslaved rana thing. that was done by aurelia and her empire. to keep them down and to make sure that no ethendra pops up due to mutations and stuff like that since they are the rana that can be turned into dragons, whom they did their best to exterminate and belived they had succeded. do watch the third loth mission aurelia herself tells us about it so this is partial paraphasing. as for that thing with weish it is likely not really that much of a hindrance, yes cecila managed to defeat them, but so did they fay manage to defeat the undead that tried to rescue aurelia but she managed to ressurect them so the could join rodericks army in the third mission, thus a fair assumption is that weish and the rest of loths hordes can be ressurected by the empress, especially with the boost of infuence the beacons likely gives her. you overview of the situation is besides that probably correct, though i would add that revenge is likely not the only motivation the rana has, since as we know the dragons ruled the land before aurelia defeated them, with the rana as their servants, and based on the qoutes we are given by some of the rana heroes (i have neither played or watched a video of the rana campaing missions) on the encyklopeda pages some would like a return to the age of the dragons.
@mcc5566 Жыл бұрын
@@jacobhederstrom8198 Aurealia managed to ressurect some troops but reviving a Wielder like Wiesh would require a lot of power propably. (Beacons can help though). However I don't see Loth fighting against both Arleon and Rana at the same time. Currently it seems like Rana alone can wipe out every other faction by themselves. They already pushed Barya into brink of existence. I forgot some parts of the story about enslavement. This makes the old empire not so great as the unseen society claims it to be. You should definitely play the Rana campaign. It shows perfectly the turning point of the war when the dragons awakened. At that moment Rana went from defensive to offensive against Barya. Not only they recalaimed the swamp but started to expand it to the Desert. Barya got rushed completely. We need to wait and see what future campaigns will bring.

@@mcc5566 that is definetly how loth would prefer it, though as we see from their final mission they might no have a choice. especially with the fey and their queen being a part of the arleon faction. the humans in arleon might understand the need to cooperate with loth against the rana and their likely attempt to return the dragon empire but as i said i have my doubts with the fey, since they are quite clearly anti aurelia. i just recently saw a video about the 3rd loth mission and that player explored more than i did and found a bunch of senechals (the upgraded ghosts) which said that when the brought the urn with aurelias spirit to the fay they did it togeather with the king and the queen attacked and killed both them and the queen. so either the centuries has had an impact on their memory or someone is lying. call me biased if you will but i am leaning more towards the fey being the liars. regarding the rana enslavement aurelia makes it quite clear that it was along with the extermination of the ethendra the only way to prevent the dragons from returning, and beyond that they were very advanced adn created the portals we know f++k all about how their empire was. though from the elder dragon quote on the encyklopedia page "trembel mortals for we have returned" (i think) they likely saw themselves as living gods.

@@jacobhederstrom8198 Personally I cheer fo Arleon. But part of me wants Rana to succed in their counquest. Victoy of Rana would be the most original and interesting ending. It would be a great redemption to swamp faction frome heroes 3 game. (In my opinion swamp is the weakest faction in heroes 3). I never sympathised with necro factions from other turn-based strategies that much. But I must admit Lava Potion take on necro faction is really creative. And Barya.... I don't know what to say about them. When it comes to gameplay they are fun to play but when it comes to the plot... From what we know... Yeah they kind of deserved they fate. What a shame we can't have more Song of Conquest content now.
