The main reason why i skip most openings is because of major spoilers. I don’t know why most anime studios do this, it’s as if they’re making the anime primarily for the manga readers and the non manga readers can F themselves. Well I'm anime only, and my guess from the visuals is that the Kaijus came from a military science experiment gone wrong. Looks like they were experimenting with some sort of organism from a hydrothermal vent

@@jeffjefferson2853 Assuming you're already caught up, that's already incorrect given Hoshina literally mentioned in episode 6 that his family has been fighting kaiju since the Muromachi Period of Japan. Which is 1336 - 1573.... In other words, Kaiju have existed in this universe for at least hundreds of years. The scientists just have kaiju captured for study is all. Their origins are still mystery in the manga as well.

@@PridefulShadow just a theory here, but i think the kaiju may actually have been the dominant inhabitants of earth at one point, they might've ruled the years between the death of the dinosaurs and the coming of human kind, when humans became dominant they might've retreated into the planets underground to one day return in full with regular scouting forces going to the surface, there's obviously alot of plot holes in this kind of idea but having them come from some breach in reality or another planet is kind of overused

「パシフィック・リム」要素が強めにかかったOPだぁ～！ここまで3DをテレビアニメのOPで駆使した演出他のアニメ作品には無い斬新なスタイルだと思う。特に最後の怪獣8号は動きも含めてめちゃカッコイイ！！
