Grew up using newspaper, and today that is about all it is good for.

With all the crap they keep printing, that is a befitting use.

Dog Potty Pads are readily available in most stores and they can be cut into squares and they work great but DO NOT flush them. I've used them several times while camping. My local Family Dollar has had TP so I am not facing that problem ....yet! So far so good :) I don't get a newspaper delivered but if I did I never would have thought of crunching and rolling it to make it soft. This was a great informational video. Your the best Kevin. Keep these videos coming!! Be well and stay healthy.

Good information, especially that you DO NOT FLUSH anything else but toilet paper and what comes out of you. Why I know? I'm the guy who opens the clogged sewer pipes :(

I’ve always had a bit of prepper in me, so personally I’m good with toilet paper for a couple of years. Growing up, at our family camp, newspaper was used by all. It composted well in the outhouse. Tell Julie it was great info. Be safe, and be well guys.

My dad was in the military, so we lived on base with indoor plumbing, but whenever we visited the grandparents in Arkansas, they had an outhouse. There was no toilet paper in there, so you either grabbed a page from the yellow pages or a catalog, or you went without.

Nice informative video on the backside, we didn't know what bought TP was when growing up, our most used was the old Sears Roebuck Catalog, you could hang it on a horizontal string and year off a page as needed. An added plus, you could look at the pictures and increase you want list, even though you knew you wouldn't get anything, GOD AWAYS SUPPLIED OUR NEEDS, not always our wants. Thanks, as always REMEMBER JESUS LOVE'S YOU 🙏🙏🙏

I was in Menards the other day and thought of the shop towel idea as well. I don't need TP right now, but it's an idea.

I'd be concerned about the long-term safety of rubbing that newsprint ink on sensitive skin. I wonder if any studies have been done(?)

well you could use baby cloth diapers and wash them out like we used to do when our kids were babies. Let the diaper dry and reuse!!! It stinks but it saves money and back then pampers were expensive!! lol

Flatten the roll before you put it on the roller....less free-wheeling, or better yet, remove roll from roller & unravel as needed!!! You'll use much less. :>)>

Kevin, in response to your question whether you may have had C-19 earlier this year? Ask yourself this question, since the virus is quite contagious, did your wife or kids get sick with same symptoms? Again, my opinion is that with the virus beginning in China and you live hundreds of miles inland from New York and thousands of miles from Washington state, you had a bad case of flu. If you had been camping or visiting in Washington state (the first place it landed) then drove back to your home state, by now you would have been patient zero and would have infected hundreds of people around you. What a burden that would be to bear.

Kevin, we are finding out who knows how to get back to mother nature and who believes that the Easter bunny handles all our needs and wants. My family used an outdoor toilet until about 1983 when the state and counties started really enforcing the use of septic tanks or city water and plumbing. It is a shame that we have to go through this but also fun to see who is aware and who isn't.

it would seem like smaller wipes would be OK to flush into a sewer to be removed at the water treatment plant; some people have to use them when having issues down there. But our apt. manager told us it's not OK for the local pipes and they could come back on anyone they found to be doing it.
