A playthrough of Sega's 1991 platformer for the Sega Genesis, Toki: Going Ape Spit.
Played through on the normal difficulty level.
Despite sharing the recognizable part of its name with the classic arcade and NES game, Sega wasn't content to give a straight port of the original. Toki on the Sega Genesis is a significantly harder, and much meatier, game. With far better level variety, improved graphics and sound, and the same endearing character designs, this is an excellent game - IF you are up for a real challenge!

To anybody that's watching this or reading this, This is 4 months in the making. I requested this to have him play it. I did play this on the Genesis version & it took me almost 2 hours to beat it even when I'd have Game Genie, This was a HARD GAME! Will post a updated comment after watching him playing this game.

Me too, it has but a few songs but those songs are masterful because the hooks are so well done. It sounds even better than the arcade if you ask me. This is one of those games that just nails the landing on all fronts.

Yes! Mostly rearranged by the composers of Shinobi III, but the "ending" and "cast" music is all theirs.

Nice use of line scrolling and animated tiles along with the 2 main background layers to create a decent effect of multi-layered parallax in some of the levels.

NintendoComplete they should've included this game in the Sega Classics Collection. I would've played it just for the soundtrack. It is just a few songs but damn, the renditions of those songs is just awesome.

So the last boss is Tony Stark, who stole Loki's sceptre and used it to transform himself into a floating insect warlock. But he was really just a front man for the real final bosses, Ridley and Medusa.

The only thing I hated about this game is that there's no dash feature. Sure there are those speed shoes, but those are few and far between. No dash feature makes for a pretty static game.
