He would have picked Akuma if the tournament had a different format. Because there was only 2 slots to win the cup with everyone else getting basically nothing via single elimination, he had to go with the more "consistent" character. If there was a little more wiggle room as is typical in the usual winners semifinals vs. losers semifinals format, he would have picked Akuma.

Congrats Tokido! That said, sooooo…what about Leshar? All his efforts for second place doesn’t mean anything? He doesn’t get a spot at Capcom cup? I don’t like the current Capcom cup format. I wish there were something of a hybrid of points and Winner placement for Capcom cup. I use to love following the roster to see how many more points a player needed to get a spot…now, it’s like meh.

This tournament is a super premier, meaning top 2 qualify for Capcom Cup, so Leshar is in as well (your point still stands for most qualifier tournaments though)
