Here's more video of some large jet-powered RC planes and the people who fly them. From the February 2017 jet meeting in Tokoroa New Zealand, this time including a few takeoffs and landings.

Many thanks to all those rc people who can afford beautiful expensive planes and offer us nice shows like this.
@RoboTekno7 жыл бұрын
Awesome save at the end with that Cougar. Also thanks for showing those landings. I hate RC videos where all they show is a bunch of planes cruising around; landings are the best part too :-)

Nice video there Bruce, You always seem to get the best shots and I think this is one of the better shoots that you have done for a while. All except the "EATING" shots. Keep up the good work Bruce. Pete.

The quality of the music wasn't that bad, if you happen to like that genre, but it was totally inappropriate for this very good film about viewing several fine jet flights. The sound of the screaming jets was the show, not the sound of screaming guitars, allegedly directed to enhance the flight experience in an overbearing way. It just doesn't blend or compliment with the flight experience.

Great weekend Bruce and no major carnage , hope to see a lot more of the same . Don't keep knocking NZs weather too much , the weather in Australia has'nt been too flash either , in W.A. some very hot days followed by cold , windy and wet days so the weather is all over the place here too :-)

The first thing I'd put in my 20K toy would be a 3 axis gyro. So many of those jets obviously don't have one.
@jkflorida7 жыл бұрын
bigpops74 Actually most of them have a gyro. Demon Cortex is what we use.
@bigpops747 жыл бұрын
Why do they look so affected by the wind, especially on landing? I'd expect the gyro to hold the wings at the attitude they've been put at. Sure, you'll get a bit of bounce in turbulence, but I'd expect the attitude to stay the same. I could be completely wrong. Fixed wing isn't my discipline, I'm first and foremost an RC heli guy, with a little bit of quads. I fly fixed wing once or twice a year, though I did have a gyro on the aileron axis of my AXN years ago.

Awful 'music'. Try no extra sound or something pleasant please.
@Megadoculous7 жыл бұрын
I agree. I am a musician and a fixed wing flyer, but it wasn't needed in this video. I would have preferred to hear the authentic sounds. But, I see a lot of people are commenting they loved the music, so what do I know. Great vid Bruce.
@TK_Taken16086 жыл бұрын
i know that you said this 9 months ago but your opinion on what "awful music" is, is exactly that, your opinion so its awesome that you didnt like, it no need to insult his tastes by implying its not "music". so for most people here this WAS something plesant. your comment was a waste of time and rude. just so you know
@rodbuilder36576 жыл бұрын
Fuck you. That "music" sucks, and so do you for defending the moron who put it here. When you're watching an auto race would you want to hear rap music, or Beethoven's shit in the sound track?

Just to clarify something.........these are not "Toys"......I've been into R/C modeling for almost 40 years and am a former U.S. Army aircraft mechanic and current private pilot and can say in all sincerity that they are "replica" aircraft in smaller than original scale and share all of the same flight characteristics of their full-size counterparts.

I've been watching the whole series and whilst in total awe of the piloting skills being demonstrated (especially in the "It's a glider" moments) and the jets themselves, I'm also fascinated and in awe of he skills shown by the cameraman. I can't seem to find one but have you ever done a video on the black arts of filming planes being flown? And if not, would you consider doing one? Many of us would benefit from such a production, not least myself as my skills in this area are sadly lacking....

They are really impressive models from a technical point of view and the pilots seem to be really good. What seems to be missing is laughter? With 20K on the line is it really fun? Also I cannot believe these 20K planes do not have autopilots. Surely if you have that much mass flying around at that speed you would not want to be at the mercy of one radio glitch. Particularly the guy on 40MHz - didn't know anyone still flew with these frequency. Finally harking back to the bad old days with so much metal flying around on 2.4Ghz was there a blanket ban on smartphones?

people in New Zealand have better peace of mind to enjoy hobbies. in America, people are still grinding for living. politics, money, and power hunger kill innocent hard working people. these fairly expensive toys used to be American middle class hobby.

Please don't call them TOYS they are not , they are a miniature version of the full size ,they have all the controls of the full size and because the pilot is not flying in the cockpit but on the ground that is a lot harder to do .plus twenty k says it's more than a toy . My apologies

People who watch these videos want to hear the sound of what they are viewing not some car commerical.
@xjet7 жыл бұрын
So everyone had a meeting (I obviously didn't get the memo) and elected you to make this statement? (LOL). But seriously, if you want to hear the sound of what you're viewing there are quite a few other very similar model-jet videos on this channel that don't have music. Variety is the spice of life however, so on this occasion, I added a little music to break up the monotony of jet engine's whining.
