I have watched this match over 10 times but I still feel the intensity and nervousness of this unbelievable comeback. How good that is for the mentality. Well done by Cheung.

That was an absolutely intense match, but a great comeback by Cheung.

Honestly I'd say the other way around, Cheung was lucky to not lose the final at the very end in Paris, but in Tokyo he won fair and square

Yah and his mentality to carry on attacking when that far down is pretty scary too

Watching this live and being a Cheung fan (I too am a tall lefty) probably took a few months off my life but good god this was a good bout. Side note holy shit Kirel went off this tournament. The ability he had to hit Cheung seemingly at will until the end on simple advance lunge is nothing short of impressive. He didn’t win a medal this go around but he made an impression this year.
@Dancingtuna3 жыл бұрын
Well he did win a team medal at the age of 21 so I don't think he's too sad this time round. I wanted to watch his bout with Lee in the 32, but unfortunately I don't have it

At 1:34, Borodachev moves forward, seems to have ROW, and his helmet flashes first when he hits. How did Cheung end up getting the point?? Someone please explain!
@williamchua63808 ай бұрын
Cheung had the right of way and so was awarded the point. A key aspect of foil fencing.

@@dzfz2100 Nah. Not specifically Cheung. Garozzo was born in the fencing country and goes to the fencing clubs in that country with an older brother who was already in fencing, and I'd wager that his family wasn't stricken with poverty to be able to fund his early career in fencing. Everyone are lucky in someways. It's just a fact of life.
