We planned a Christmas/New Years trip to Australia/Asia but it just so happened when I was looking for flights that it was cheaper to fly through Tokyo Japan and lay over for a few days. If there's one thing I love, it's a flight deal, so we made the best of it. We hit up our friends at the Peninsula Hotel and they were nice enough to slide us in to their Tokyo location during peak season. Was well worth it to say the least.
As usual, we crushed our food tour and made our way around this city. Sushi, drinks, crazy tuna, and a $300 Wagyu Sandwich! Insane what they're up to at Wagyu mafia but worth checking it out once in your lifetime.
We also went to TeamLabs which was unreal and highly recommended for a surreal instagrammable moment but also just a wild visual experience.
Japan is never ending for exploring, but starting to feel like we know our way around.

Be careful. Many of small restaurants in Japan do not separate smoking and non-smoking. You should ask first if they have non-smoking table is available or not when booking. Yet, for lunch hours, most of them are 100% non-smoking.

I'm not the only Japanese who hates smoking inside of restaurants, and smoking is one of the biggest issues which should be resolved in this country. I mean, I would like you guys to know that not all of the Japanese are like that haha AND fortunately, the government FINALLY decided to prohibit smoking in restaurants(there are some exceptions: like cigar bar), so it should be okay until the Olympic in 2020. Hope everyone can fully enjoy Japan without unpleasant feelings;)
