A shop like this in the UK would go bust due to high rents and not enough footfall. It's incredible to see, clearly Japan can sustain such a business.

For anyone wondering, the song heard at around 18:42 is "And This Is My Beloved" by Katherine Jenkins. I recognized the melody as Borodin's Nocturne from his 2nd quartet.

@sylvio1980 For the Japanese made items, generally yes. For non Japanese brands it varies due to pricing strategies, exchange rates so it’s best to check.

🇬🇧...in the 80s there was a report in Stereoplay about HiFi shops in Asia, I think Hong Kong & this shop was just gigantic. The old Saturn in Cologne was also very big! 🇩🇪...in den 80ern gab es einen Bericht in Stereoplay über HiFi-Geschäfte in Asien, ich glaube Hongkong & dieser Laden war einfach gigantisch. Auch sehr groß, der alte Saturn in Köln!

17:53 I've wanted to try these feet by KaNaDe. Guy designed automotive brake rotors and learned about resonant frequencies and made feet that resonate at a pleasing frequency. Apparently performers use them on their instruments. Can only get them in Japan though.

I have a customer who would happily pay ¥75.000 for a Philips CDM-1 needed to revive his McIntosh MCD-7000. Another would pay ¥25.000 for a genuine Sony KHM-280AAA, all we can get a Chinese counterfeits which function poorly or not at all.
