For our first day itinerary in Tokyo, we decided to explore the area of Harajuku first. If you have a whole day, you can actually explore Shinjuku, Harajuku and Shibuya, that's the ideal one day itinerary. But in our case we arrived in the morning thus we just began exploring in the afternoon. So if you decide to explore Harajuku first, there's the Meiji Jingu Shrine, Takeshita Street which is like the trendiest street in Tokyo and the trendiest snacks can be found as well. There are lots of restaurants in the area as well but in our case we went to the flagship store of Kura Sushi which is a popular sushi conveyor belt restaurant. By the way, long waiting times are a norm especially when the restaurant is popular. Afterwards, we rested a bit and checked-in at our capsule hotel in Shinjuku which is very close to Shinjuku station. Next after getting a bit of rest, we then proceeded to Shibuya Sky. You need to make a reservation like more than a month your intended date if you want to get the ideal schedule of before sunset. But getting an evening schedule is not bad as well, you get the see the towering buildings of Tokyo at night. It looked like the city does not sleep actually. There's also a rooftop bar where you can cap off the night and basically that's what we did.
