In this episode of Tokyo Rides, we take a motorcycle tour of Ikebukuro on a 2019 BMW R nineT. I borrowed this sweet motorbike from BMW Motorrad Central Asukayama for a couple of hours and had a blast! The R nineT is a beautiful motorcycle and a joy to ride. I'll let you know my thoughts in the vid.
We'll buzz around the neighborhood of Ikebukuro and environs and of course stop in at a stylish coffee shop for a cheeky cup! You'll like Coffee Valley! Hop on!

Thanks for coming along for the R nineT ride thru Ikebukuro! It's a great bike- will be doing more test rides in Tokyo! And thanks for the bandana advice for helmet head. Will try that! I did try a skull cap once but it also left weird lines!

Getting lost in Tokyo is when the adventure starts. I like the low rumble of the BMW when you take off from a stand still. The ride through the narrow streets was loads of fun.

Thanks for the test ride. Loved that neighborhood you went through before reaching Otsuka. You could never leave your helmet with GoPro let alone your BMW bike on the streets where I live. Heck people use chains on their mopeds that weigh more than the moped itself!

Sounds like it's got a lot of power in the low range. (Trucker phraseology) Loved the winding roads in the old part of town, but wish you could have taken it out in the E-way. Still a fun ride. Nice video, nice bike. Sounded really nice in the audio 👍

Oh wow, also my favorite type of bike - street naked! Although, I like Triumph Speed Triple and Suzuki Bandit most. Nice to see that situation in Tokyo returns to normal. But anyway, take care! Because, for example, we in Ukraine have quite high growing number of infected after quarantine measures were weakened a little bit.

Lol rewatching this. The part about one-way streets in Tokyo reminds me of two years ago when I went driving for the first time over there. GPS said it would take 45 minutes to get to my destination (Yokohama). So of course I missed the on-ramp for the expressway and with all the one-way streets, it wasn't obvious/easy to just do a couple u-turns to get back. So by the time I finally found a new route the GPS added almost an hour additional travel time. Welp.

That bike seemed cool and I liked the paint design as well. You should buy it! RS= rally sport not really slow lol I live in North Vancouver and I would never leave my belongings behind. Probably only in Japan where you can get away with leaving your belongings behind. How does the test drive work? Can anyone take it out for a ride? Just sign papers or leave credit card info behind or do they allow you because they know who you are? Lastly happy fathers day!

If you like a flip up check Nolan out :-) and obviously Schuberth Here you can usually leave the helmet and stuff on the bike as long as you are not too far away/long and it is not too crowded. The GoPro might be riskier, but since it is attached, who would risk a crime for a camera?

You can leave a helmet with a gopro attached in a lot of countries. Out of the tip of my head i would say, Japan, Southkorea, Taiwan, Switzerland, Norway, most of germany, Denmark, Finnland. I usally leave my Helmet at the bike in Berlin city. On the other hand, Berlin has about the same area as Tokyo at most parts a pretty safe. But you kind of need to be a local to know where that is the case. But that is not really a big probleme it large parts of Germany.
